Dermatologist question?

My friend who has mild acne is a vegetarian and he gets like most protein through dairy products, milk and cheeses. Like a few minutes ago I saw a link to the milk blog or sumthing and it said milk can cause acne. I dont want to freak him out but like shuld he be corcerned. is the dairy/milk thing causing acne true? what is it about milk that causes it. does fat free milk have a different effect than regular milk? i dont really want to tell him cuz he like works out and has a lot of dairy protein and if he cut dairy it would like super reduce his protein?

what should i tell him to do?|||Milk is actually proven that it can cause acne, doesn%26#039;t mean it will. The hormones in milk messes with your own bodies hormones. Tell your friend to stop drinking it for a while and just take a supplement for protein. If his face clears up while he stops drinking the milk than you know it%26#039;s from that.|||I highly doubt its the milk that is causing his acne. Most of the time acne comes from overproduction of oil and bacteria. He should see a dermatologist or an aesthetician and discuss his concerns and they will help him with products and services to cure his acne.|||Milk happens to be not good for anyone. see www.notmilk.com

MANY health issue have been associated with milk....acne could definatly be caused by drinking milk.

To help the acne go away, I suggest drinking LOTS of water and try using Lavender Moisturizer.|||well i went to my dermatologist in novermber of 2007 and she told me to take 3 8000 units vitamin A per day, and i%26#039;ve taken 2 a day cause im scare to take 3 and i haven%26#039;t broken out since then.|||Milk doesn%26#039;t cause acne.. actually nothing you eat can cause your acne to be any worse.. unless you ate something greasy and rubbed the grease into your pores and left it lol.|||nothing causes acne other than over production of oils on the skin.|||That%26#039;s just a myth. But if you do tell him and he wants to stop, peanut butter is packed with protein.|||chocolate, soda[dark sodas], junk food, and so on make acne worse from my experience.|||milk cant cause acne|||i%26#039;m not exactly sure if it%26#039;s 100% true. a lot of things can contribute to acne such as diet and your hygeine.

BUT, a while ago, in an attempt to get rid of my acne, i tried a detox diet which is an eating plan that really helps your skin, and i did notice that they cut out dairy, exept for plain yogurt once a day. so maybe there is some truth to it.

but if he%26#039;s looking for a subsitute protein, nuts and beans are a great source. or, bear with me, he could try tofu. i know this sounds disgusting, but i went vegitarian for a little while, and since i%26#039;m allergic to nuts i had to go for tofu. honestly it%26#039;s not that bad. especially if you cook i with something because then is soaks up all the flavor and it%26#039;s really nummy. =]] but if none of these options sounds reasonable, he could always take protein tablets.
