Dermatologist cost?

Hey i wanted to know if anyone knew how much a round estimate would cost to get a mold on my lip removed and include consulation cost.|||Do you have health insurance? I am assuming you don%26#039;t. It really helps if you do because it%26#039;ll defer the cost drastically. If you don%26#039;t have any then it%26#039;ll cost you around $300-$500|||Mold? Dermatologist..is it worth it?

has anybody been to one before? I%26#039;m going to be going for the first time in a couple weeks. Are they worth the money?... whats your experience with them?|||Definitely skin is so important! Everyone wants good skin don%26#039;t they? Plus dermatologist can tell you what can help you and what can hurt your skin. Recommends products and such. Its definitely worth the money. Plus im sure insurance pays for most of it.|||I have gone to many dermatologists. I think you must have a skin problem that is serious, or you would not go. It is worth it if you have a condition that needs attention like something needs to be removed, or checked to see if it is growing or spreading. Skin cancer is really serious. Try to keep your face clean, hands clean...I live nivea cream on my face at night to keep it moist and supple. Try to keep out of the sun or wear a baseball cap and don%26#039;t be afraid.|||Skin is one of your most important organs of your body. You should go, I have gone to one and I felt so good after going. I had a little acne in high school, I went to one, and they gave me some medicine but also I found out what products I should use for my type of skin and which ones to stay away from, plus they showed me what happens to skin that ages from the sun. I would go to one!!|||yes, in middle school i had acne and the dermatologist got rid of most of it straight away. stick with what he/she tells you and take care of ur skin!

Dermatologist question!?

Who would be a good dermatologist for teens?

Any references in the New York, NY area?|||A dermatologist is a dermatologist. I%26#039;m in Ohio and not aware of derms specializing in one particular type of patient or another.

Check the links below for more info.

How good are dermatologists?

I have really severe acne and I have tried nearly every possible acne medication. In a couple days I%26#039;ll be going to see a dermatologist and I want to know if he would be able to do anything other than recommend the same acne medication (such as Proactive, Neutrogena, Aveeno, Clean and Clear etc) that I have already been using.

Or if he would be able to give me something that may actually work for me.

If you have been to a dermatologist before and he/she has helped you please tell me what they did for you.|||Yes dermatologist are good! They are doctors! The %26#039;medications%26#039; you describe are only the very mildest over-the-counter treatments. A dermatologist can prescribe all acne drugs, including:

- Topical retinoids such as Tretinoin, Adapalene, Tazarotene

- Oral antibiotics such as Tetracycline, Minocycline, Erythromycin

- Topical antibiotics such as Clindamycin, Erythromycin

- Hormonal treatment such as Dianette and other birth control pills

- Accutane

- Azelaic acid

- Sodium Sulfacetimide

- Metronidazole

- Nicotinamide

- Sulfones (Dapsone)

There is also Blue Light Treatment.

You have basically not tried anything yet! Do what your dermatologist says, to the letter, and you will see a big improvement in your acne.|||ya the one i went to wasnt much help. But if your a boy they can give you some strong medicine that will work. If your a girl they will only give it to you if your on birth control (it can cause birth defects) i forgot what its called. i think it started with an A. The first thing they might prescribe you is a pill along with a yucky medicine you put on your face. It didnt work for me :(|||well, i%26#039;ve been to the dermatologist for the same issue: acne. and yea they did help a lot. And what they told me is that if you use face wash every morning and night it helps. and they are so right! it clears up in no time. also, if you we%26#039;re to only use it once a day it doesn%26#039;t help as well but also if you do only use it once a day you are best off doing it before you go to bed.

By the way, they will probably give you some kind of other medication for it but most likely be a pill (those work great.) and just dont give up on it right away. because then you could be missing out on a clear face.

Good Luck!|||There is this new popular cream that people have been talking about.

It was even televised on TV.

My sister and cousin who both have major acne have tried the product and they both give

it thumbs up. I have also heard many great feedbacks about this cream.

I don%26#039;t have a problem with acne, but it seems to have great results on my sister who

Why are Dermatologists are also called Sexologists?

Why are Dermatologists(Skin-Specialists) are also called Sexologists?

What do they do they that involves sex treatments.

Please provide me with a vivid answer anyone?

Thanx in advance.|||Because I think that dermatologists deal with sexual problems as well.Like they check the vaginal anal area of women having ulcers there for example,or they may have to check the breasts for tumors or skin problems of women, just like gynecologists.Hence they are called sexologists I presume.|||I%26#039;ve never heard of them being referred to as %26quot;sexologists%26quot;...maybe you%26#039;re thinking of gynecologists/urologists?

Popping my blister (need dermatologist help)?

Ok, I had Malascum Contagiousum and the doc put this stuff on my chin to make them pop and blister. I want to pop them, but he said just leave them.

I have two on my chin, and two on the inside of my knees.

When they do eventaully pop the liquid gets all over and I was wondering if that could make the Malloscum spread. Should I put a bandaid over the popped ones and would neosporin help heal them?|||If they stay oozy, call your dermatologist. If they %26#039;crust%26#039; you should be okay. If you pop them, you can try drying them out so that it doesn%26#039;t get all over the place. Neosporin will not help kill the virus but it might help keep any infection from bacteria from happening (if you%26#039;re not already on antibiotics).

Should i see a dermatologist?

ive had ONE pimple on the side of my nose for like 5 weeks already, its barely raised and just pink with no feeling, no pain. Should i go in just for one pimple? i feel like its a waste of money and the dermatologist will think im crazy, plus i dont have health insurance so it will probably be expensive, is one pimple really worth that much?|||One of my friend asked me a similiar question before,we found helpful luck here.http://heath-insurance.tips-free.info/he鈥?/a>|||Pimples ordinarily clear within two weeks. You may have an infected follicle, requiring antibiotics, or a cyst. Information about cystic acne and epidermal cysts at the link below. If you see a regular doctor, he/she may be able to help you without the added expense of a dermatologist. I%26#039;d call the doctor%26#039;s office and talk to his/her nurse. They usually can determine whether the doctor can help you or if you need a specialist.

Good luck!|||nope not at all dont worry about it. if its big and it looks like it has puss inside just pop it. it should go away much faster. i%26#039;ve done it before.

1st visit to a dermatologist... (acne)?

ill be going to the dermataologist next week to hopefully treat my acne and so that it goes away. im 17 right now and it started when i was like 14, but only on my face. then, when i was like 16 or so , i had it on my back and chest and shoulders. I dont have health insurance and thats why i took so long to search for help. i called and asked them how much it was for me to go and they said it was $90. My questions is, what is the dermatologist going to do? is he going to check blood? skin? what do you think he%26#039;ll prescribed for my case on acne %26amp; scars ? also how expensive is retin-a or accutane?, Thanks.. :)|||OK here it is: He%26#039;ll look at your skin give you something (a cream or pills or both ) and send you to the pharmacy to get it which will cost you god only knows how much money. The cream or gel will fry your face, make it burn, turn it red, dry it out %26amp; probably do nothing. I tried the pills %26amp; nothing happened, my friends kid went %26amp; got cream %26amp; it made his face all red, dry %26amp; worse. I suggested she try Proactiv Solution %26amp; told her how I use it and you can buy 1 bottle for $16.00 or join the club %26amp; get the kit for $40.00 delivered every 3 months. She gets it for him at the mall. If you want there tel # it%26#039;s 1-800-950-4695. Stay away from the dermatologist (waste of money %26amp; you%26#039;re skin won%26#039;t get better)... My ex boyfriends brother had very bad acne, got gel from the dematologist %26amp; it was just the same %26quot;IT DID NOT WORK%26quot; , don%26#039;t waste your time %26amp; $$$ seriously I use Proactiv %26amp; it WORKS!!!!|||The doctor will start you out on some basic creams and ointments, just to see how your face reacts and how strong the medicine should be. Usually, you%26#039;ll get samples of these creams first. If they really work and you see improvement, you can buy the larger tubes.

If nothing seems to be working, Acutane probably will, bt it can be up to 120 dollars depending on your dosage. If you start Acutane, blood work will be done every month.

Good Luck!|||you poor kid. there won%26#039;t be blood work that i know of. just an exam and history questions. there are many things available. he%26#039;ll try whichever he thinks will treat your acne the best. good luck. relax.

Dermatologist?

ok, I%26#039;m scheduled to go to the dermatologist on Wednesday because I have really bad acne...well anyway my question is for you guys who have been in the same situation.

what will it be like? what will happen? what will they do, and what might they prescribe?

ps: I have tried like all the creams and step-by-step things...none of them worked...|||well they will look at your acne...... ask you questions about what you%26#039;ve been using....... see if you have any like body acne......... sometimes they look at it with some special light and touch your face with like doctor gloves to really get an idea of the texture

they tend to have better creams and step by step things because the creams are prescriptions and some of the step by step things are sold exclusively to them......changes are they will also prescribe some sort of antibiotic that will have some kind of side effects usually affecting the digestive system and interfere with birth control pills (just so you know if you are female) some of the medication that they prescribe for the worst cases after trying other things if your female they make you be on the pill and take pregnancy tests because of severe birth defects (acutane)

you%26#039;ll have to go back a few times|||My bro went to the dermatologist for bad acne. I think they gave him cream or lotion and medicine. I think it will go red at first, then it will be good later. lol don%26#039;t listen to me :) just visit your dermatologist and see.

Dermatologist?!?!?!?!?

How good is acne medication from a dermatologist? Will it get rid of acne compleatley? About how much is it for the medication? How long does it work for it to take effect?|||I had great acne medication I just got it from a regular doctor. You might have to take tests before it for live and kidney function though because it%26#039;s pretty serious stuff.

It dries out your face, you often bleed from your nose and mouth if you don%26#039;t keep them moist.

It does do a good job on the acne despite the side effects.|||well i take a prescription pill and it worked wonders. i barely break out anymore. but i dont know if you can take it cuz mine was for an adrenale gland thing.|||Benzoyl Peroxide. Put on a moisturizer after so your skin doesn%26#039;t dry up.|||Hi.. here is your CURE! Acne is caused from the INSIDE of the body. It is a lack of Vitimin A.

A is essential to the break down of fats and oils in the body. This is why Acutane works, its pure A and shuts down the oil glands. Thats the risky way. Your body needs some oil- this is why people who use it need to have their blood checked weekly for organ failure.

To CURE it, take Pantothinic acid (B5) 500mg... it forces the body to produce more A. Taking Vitimin A could be toxic. This way your body makes what it needs

you MUST take 20 pills a day for 3 months, then cut down to about 4 a day... start with 12 a day for the first 3 days, then do the 20 a day (5pills 4xs a day).... there are no side effects, but you may be on the toilet for the first few days.

Ive been using it for a year and have no acne. Mine was large cysts and worse around my period. I have a girlfriend with a teenage daughter who had it so bad, all over face chest and back, within one week she looked 75% better.

Google %26quot;B5 and acne%26quot; and watch what pops up.

Ive had acne since I was 28, tried everything. This works. Dont give up, be consistant with your use, if you go more than a week without taking it you%26#039;ll notice. there are many brands, all work. However I use a Jarrow brand, cheap and works well.

Do research, read whats posted about it. Good Luck!|||Anything from a dermatologist is % 100 better and more affective than anything you can get over the counter or order from tv. Try for topical gels like Duac or Differn, or a prescription facewash like Brevoxyl. You might have to try a couple different ones before finding the one thats right for you, but stick with it, this is the best option and you will be very happy and see results short term and long term.

Note: I HIGHLY recommend staying away from pills that dermatologists might recommend, the topical gels work just as good or better, I have had horrible experience and side effects with pills.|||If you are not covered by insurance the out of pocket can be expensive. OTC products really do work, you have to use them as directed. See a dermatologist if you have severe acne. Most all teens have this curse and you won%26#039;t get rid of it overnight, it simply does not happen. The best you can do is try to keep your face oil free by washing the acne affected area (your face) several times a day.

Neutrogena has many good products. What ever you don%26#039;t do, don%26#039;t force the pus out, you may leave scars. I know this from my own experience as a teen.

Yes, I thought the day would never come when I would be acne free but it did.

All the best.

Dermatologist?

I know this may seem like a stupid question, but where can I go to see these %26quot;dermatologists%26quot; people speak of? Where are they? Clinics? Do I just go up to them or book an appointment with them?|||~You can get a referral from a doctor

~You can open the yellow pages phone book and search the yellow pages for a dermatologist, could be listed under Skin (something or other)( but not advisable)

~You can open the white pages phone book and search hospital names which have listings of all of their departments - dermatology

~The county hospital will be in the white pages but under the government section (this is usually associated with clinics).

~You can ask friends and family if they have a dermatologist or used to use one that they%26#039;d recommend

All of this depends on if you have insurance or not.|||i saw a dermatologist through my doctor. i went to the doctor first and they set up an appointment for me|||The best way is to be referred by your family doctor. He knows exactly where to sent you.|||Look up a dermotologist individually. Make sure you book an appointment early. I had to make appointments 6 months in advance!|||You can google your city and state or you can just look in your phonebook. Most dermatologists have free consults.|||You generally will need to see your primary care physician first and you will be referred to a dermatologist in your area. Most will not see you without a primary%26#039;s referral and usually your insurance carrier will not pay unless you are referred.

Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:

1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

just let me know how can I help you.|||I have my skin care license, however you didn%26#039;t ask a question.|||Hey pal....they are supposed to turn the decolorated skin into pink and red after that...exposing slightly and normally that part of the skin, will force it to produce melanine ,,the pigmenmt your pale areas are lacking...,(although psoralens like cream and patches work very slowly)

Pink does mean its givng good result, psoralens are working...and they will be redder....

However if itching and pain appear (happens very rarely) stop the patches for 10 days, wash the skin with aluminium acetate bufferized solution )Burrows powder to dissolve one in a liter of warm water) during that resting period, if needed...|||Did you know that among doctors, it is common knowledge that dermatologists tend to be last in there class rank?

What will the dermatologist do?

ok, i%26#039;ve had pretty bad acne for the past about 2 years. I%26#039;ve used so many products, and nothing really seems to work. Im going to the dermatologist at the end of august. Currenttly im using neutrogena acne stress control cream cleanser and the neutrogena acne stree control hydrating acne treatment. What does the dermatologist normally give to you to get rid of your acne. and how long will it take to see results. Aslo, should i continue using the products im using now, even after i visit the dermatologist?

please, if anyone can give me some good advice on helping me with my acne, i would really feel better about myself.

and pleas dont say, try proactiv, because i already have.

also, whats a good foundation for acne skin?|||no foundation-use a tinted moisturizer!

exfoliate at night, cleanse in the morning, use facial toner for both, and deep cleanse once a week. try an olive oil salt paste everyday for a week, then alternate days till it clears up. i also recommend Dr. Payot fPate Gris or blemishes and scars (if you have them idk). It is a true miracle cream. just put on trouble spots! also i would recommend getting your skin evaluated at Bobby Brown or something like such a company if you are dead set on foundation. i wrote the same thing for another question so you may see this somewhere else. try sleeping on your back.

good luck!|||A dermatologist is a doctor who specialises in skin conditions. Therefore, like any doctor, she or he will put you on medication, probably a form of antibiotic. This will clear the condition, but the symptoms are likely to reappear in due course.

He/she might also ask you about your diet and what products you are using,so be honest and answer as best as you can.

I cannot guarantee that your acne will disappear for good. I found dermatologists useless.I would try something different, like alternative medicine, herbs or acupuncture. Good luck anyway|||I%26#039;ve went to 2 dermatologists before and the first one gave me differin gel + some antibiotic pills to control acne from the inside. The second one gave me this new stuff called ziana and the same antibiotic pills. You probably shouldn%26#039;t take your old stuff after you see them, but it won%26#039;t hurt to talk to your dermatologist and ask. Results take awhile, about 10-12 weeks. I%26#039;ve had acne for a long time too, the best thing I can tell you is to stay consistent with your daily routine. Wash with your new medicine when they tell you to and take your pills when you have to. Just wait to see the dermatologist it will be worth it! Good luck!

Is there a DERMATOLOGIST ?!?

i have this zit/cyst/boil/whatever and i asked about it earlier and people told me it was an infection, a boil, a zit that will go away in a week, and i have been advised to put toothpaste on it. Get it looked at by a doctor asap.|||I think you might be talking about a cyst. I get them but I don%26#039;t get headches from them, at least I don%26#039;t think so. I hate them sooo bad!All you can do really is just wash your face two time a day and don%26#039;t touch your face! Don%26#039;t over wash it. I am going through the same problem. They go away in about a week sometimes longer. I hate it! Oh and do not get the needle out!!!!!! My goodness when I seen that someone told you to do that I about died!!! That would hurt so bad plus it would just make it much much worse! You are just going to let it be. Go to the dr.%26#039;s They gave me meds for them but I still get them just not as bad as before.|||Yes|||this is going to sound really painful but it%26#039;ll work. take a needle (i know, ow, but it doesnt hurt, i promise) and slide it in sideways into this bump. once you get to the center, squeeze it out.|||u never know it could be an ingrown hair. although i have never had/ heard of one on the face, u never know. but from what u say that is what it sounds like.|||i get those sometimes, but mine go away in two days, don%26#039;t worry just leave it alone it%26#039;ll go away on its own but if you mess with it it%26#039;ll get bigger. Large and usually very painful, nodules are inflamed, pus-filled lesions lodged deep within the skin. Nodules develop when the contents of a comedo have spilled into the surrounding skin and the local immune system responds, producing pus. The most severe form of acne lesion, nodules may persist for weeks or months, their contents hardening into a deep cyst. Both nodules and cysts often leave deep scars.

Acne conglobata. This rare but serious form of inflammatory acne develops primarily on the back, buttocks and chest. In addition to the presence of pustules and nodules, there may be severe bacterial infection.

Going to the dermatologist?

i%26#039;m going to be going to my dermotologist for the first time in like 20 years. Do most dermotoligists sell products that will lighten your freckles or will they most likely do chemical peels and stuff like that? I don%26#039;t want to go and waste 100 dollars on a visit just to find out that they don%26#039;t sell products like that. I called and all i was told was to come in so they can take a look. Not gonna happen! Also, ever since the day i was born i have had itchy skin that i can itch til it bleeds. It drives me crazy because the itchy won%26#039;t go away then i itch it til its raw then it hurts like crazy. This is an on going process. Any one ever heard of this?|||Going to the derm. for the dry skin is a good idea. Sounds like you need a good strong lotion. The derm. may give you samples but probably a Rx for anything else. I had itchy skin and they gave a Rx to relief the itch. Go to a medical spa to purchase products they recommend. Mine (Atlantic med spa) has a derm. running the place and helped me with red blotches around my nose! (allergies) I got a facial and a diagnosis for 80.00. The lotion to clear up the spots was 12.00. Try lotions with either hemp seed oil or dimithicone. Stay away from anything with mineral oil in it including baby oil. It clogs your pores and dries it out even more!! Eucherin lotion has an itch relief moisturizer you can try too!|||I got a cheap bleach treatment from Avon for dark spots

what comes with the itch is there bumps or dryness

might be:*psoriasis *dermatitis * eczema

or you might have mites like scabies

if you have scabies you use a dermal cream like Nix

* also usually ppl with skin conditions have a bit of a liver problem,I would use a milk thistle for a liver protectant

and maybe go to your health food store and ask for a liver

cleanser|||the itch part sounds medical/see dr on that/the other they do have otc for that at stores/good luck

okay I%26#039;ve just had a breakout on my face recently. and its acne I%26#039;m sure. but it%26#039;s the first time I see it pink. I mean its not pimples nor zits. its pink. the skin itself.it looks like dots. (usually like the ones pimples leave behind, but those just take like 2 weeks to go. this, however, has been going on for a while now.) when i touch it, it feels like normal skin. but its pink. how do you get rid of it? pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaseeeeeeeee help|||Hello,

Acne is due to an overactivity and plugging of the oil glands. The main cause of acne is increased levels of hormones during adolescence. The white dot in the middle is due to white heads.

Acne usually lasts until age 20 or even 25. It is rare for acne to leave any scars unless picked.

Just keep you face clean by washing with a mild soap atleast twice a day.Pat it dry and do not rub it.Avoid picking or pressing the acne. You can also use Benzoyl peroxide 5% lotion or gel or clindamycin once at bedtime. An amount of lotion the size of a pea should be enough to cover most of your face. If your skin becomes red or peels, you are using too much of the medicine or applying it too often. Engage in a diet that is low in sugar and fat but is rich in vitamins. This prevents acne by preventing the buildup of excess oil on the skin. Also refrain from touching or squeezing your acne.|||This is due to a swelling of the 2nd or 3rd layer of the skin underneath the epidermis or top layer of skin. If they don%26#039;t develop into pimples, but stay like %26#039;little pink dots%26#039;, it is a little pocket of oil. It can be treated dependent on severity with isotrentine in the most severe cases (brand name ROACCUTANE) or if they are not severe, with simple exfoliation and looking at the acidity of the foods you eat and what you drink. Use a PH balancing skin wash, like Phisohex.

This is not such an uncommon problem.

Skin condition, cement, dermatologist?

I have a good friend who was exposed to Portland cement a number of years ago. She continues to experience severe facial scabbing and oozing sores. She has not received proper treatment from her local physicians. Is anyone aware of a dermatologist who she can contact regarding treatment? Anyone help is grat appreciated!!|||The answer depoends on where your friend lives. A general answer is to look at the closest teaching hosital (a hospital which is attached to a medical school) and look at its dermatology faculty. You are likely to find doctors who are very current and can help your friend.

Going to the dermatologist tomorrow?

Can a derm. provide something to treat risidule acne (acne underneath the skin)? What is the hardest kind of acne to treat?

Also, can a derm. do anything for facial scars? (Not acne scarring, I just have one fairly deep scar)

Thanks in advance =]|||Yeah the dermatologist can help you with acne which is underneath the skin (like tiny cysts)

I went to see the dermatologist for my acne a couple of months ago and she prescribed me Tetralysal which is an oral antibiotic and differin cream.

Unfortunately for me I had an allergic reaction to the differin cream but this is very rare so dont worry,

The Tetralysal is working slightly but when I go back she is going to talk to me about roaccutane on a low dosage which will hopefully be more effective even though it can have bad side effects.

Just to prepare you- the dermatologist will need you to take off all your makeup so they can assess the acne. If you want to wear makeup then take a cleanser and some cotton wool pads in your bag to take it off when you are in there, then go straight home after wards to reapply your makeup. (That%26#039;s what I did :-) )

I%26#039;m afraid I dont know if the dermatologist can help you with your scar... Laser treatment is always an option and if the dermatologist doesnt do this i%26#039;m sure they can advise you on a reputable health care professional who can :)

Best of luck hunny x x|||The dermatologist can give you some medications or creams to help clear up the acne. It will take some time, but you will begin to notice it clearing up. They may also recommend some cleansers for your skin that will also help clear up acne and prevent it from coming back.

The most serious type of acne is called cystic acne. It%26#039;s very painful and the skin is very inflamed and red. It%26#039;s very difficult to treat but can be cleared up.

With facial scarring, there are treatments to help clear them up or make them less noticeable. Many dermatologists can do this, ands if they can%26#039;t they will refer you to another doctor, even a plastic surgeon. Most likely, the dermatologist will be able to help you.

Best of luck. Hope I helped|||yes dermatologist can help you with you problem just ask him and he will ansewer all your problems|||I%26#039;m pretty sure he can.Ask him,though,don%26#039;t hesitate :)

OTC, Proactive, Dermatologist?

I%26#039;m 24 yo female, all I drink is water, diet is ok. I have imo some form of acne. Its slight bumps all over my skin, some actually come out. I%26#039;ve recently had two %26quot;pimples%26quot; that didnt come out similar to what I%26#039;ve read about cystic acne. Question is IMO its mild, just under the skin bumps, (Annoying!), Anything for otc, do i get practive or consult a dermatologist?|||If it%26#039;s only mild acne, it%26#039;ll probably respond to OTC medications such as benzoyl peroxide (no stronger than 2.5%). If that doesn%26#039;t work for you (make sure you give it at least a month), then see a dermatologist. You should definitely try out otc medications first since they are cheaper and usually less harsh.|||Don%26#039;t waste anymore time. Call and make an appointment to your dermatologist right away. I tried a lot of products on my acne both on face, chest and back, and it basically messed up everything. I%26#039;ve been on everything from Benzoil peroxide, Proactive, Tri-Clear, those strong alcohol pads, that burn as soon as you touch a zit that you pick. I have a terrible case of acne on my bust area, it%26#039;s totally getting worse, and the doctor has tried a lot of topicals and every pill she can put me on. I can%26#039;t afford a lot of that stuff because it runs more than $100 per bottle. Good luck to you.

Going to dermatologist EHh??!?

I have mild but very persistent acne. I am using 2.5 % benzoyl peroxide right now and its working OK. it seems best so far for my skin. should i go to the dermatologist for my acne and what should i expect? thanks!|||I suggest that you continue what you are doing. My experience with dermatologists hints that %26quot;anyone%26quot; could walk into a dermatologist%26#039;s office and he/she would immediately find something that needed to be taken off, cut out or some other procedure. Sorry, that is my opinion.|||If your acne isn%26#039;t bad, they will probably keep you on creams. If they think your acne is bad enough, they will give you oral antibiotics. Antibiotics work wonders for acne. The worst acne usually is treated by antibiotics. If your acne isn%26#039;t that bad, and 2.5% isn%26#039;t drying your skin out, you can find products with a higher percentage. Brand name OXY- 2% salycilic acid face wash and 10% benzoyl peroxide cream is the best you can get without a prescription. If you do go, it%26#039;s nothing to be concerned about, just tell them what you%26#039;ve been on, and how it has worked so far.

Acne help? Dermatologist?

So I%26#039;ve had acne on my face on the same places for almost a year and I%26#039;m going to the dermatologist in about a month or so. I was wondering if they check it out and give me prescribed cleansers, will I still be able to have flawless, clear, smooth skin? Or will there be scars? :/

Thanks|||scars are when you pick at your skin. iwould def check out a derm. they can perscribe you medication to get rid of your acne.|||You have had this ACNE for about 1 year, why are you JUST now going to see the Dermatologist?? Has the acne gotten worse? Are you scarring, are you picking???

Keep your fingers and hands away from your face from picking, this the the VERY WORST thing you can do for your skin.... not only the dirt, bacteria, etc. you cannot see on your fingers and hands but when you pick you are actually spreading the infectous materials under your skin, thus spreading it to a larger degree.

Sometimes, heredity, medications, teen years, foods, plus much, much more can create what WE THINK is acne, you are right by seeking out the opinion of a Dermatologist.

Be sure to follow His/Her Treatment fully. They are highly educated professionals whom can help you a great deal and save your skin from scarring.

Most skin conditions are pretty tricky and with out actually seeing a patient it is impossible to determine the best treatment. In addition there are liability issues regarding malpractice and most physicians have full schedules and actually need to be paid for the time the spend in consultation. If your questions are about basic skin care or particular products, there are lots of great web site you can visit, and don%26#039;t forget about your family doctor, he or she can treat things like acne and rashes without sending you to specialist. I beleive that there are people who feel the way I do..so, any suggestions would be appreciated,, thank you...|||I think you got it right. The acne episode was the cause.

It%26#039;s not that you are self-conscious about your skin, although you are. It%26#039;s that because of the acne episode, you are sensitized to skin problems. That is, your mind fears that something is going wrong, so something does.

Keep that in mind, and when you are fussing over the skin, remind yourself about this psychological quirk and how it is making you concerned when there is no concern.

Just do the normal skin care, mostly washing with mild soap and water, and forget dire events - when you have learned not to let your sensitization drive you, you%26#039;ll settled down to normal.|||You should be happy with yourself. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne鈥?prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.

For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it鈥檚 advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.

Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

http://www.acne-treatment-medicine-1.inf鈥?/a>|||I HAVE THE ANSWER TO ACNE!

I have a teen aged brother and me who have struggled with Acne for years...we tried many things, including Proactive and prescription medicines as well. Then, we found the solution.

Please don%26#039;t shrug it off because this can help you a lot.

I was searching through the Internet and found www.acne.org. The site is owned by a guy named Dan. Dan, struggled with acne as well. He read medical books and tried many things on the market. Then, he found the way. BENZYL PEROXIDE! Now, I bet you have used it many times before but it hasn%26#039;t done much right? Well, the reason is because everything on the market is 5% or 10% Benxyl Peroxide. These irritate your skin which causes MORE acne! (Touching it irritates it as well which causes more acne.) There is one thing on the market that has non irritating Benzyl Peroxide....2.5% Benzyl Peroxide. Netrogena on the Spot Acne Cream has 2.5. Nothing else on the market. You can get stuff on the Internet that have 2.5%! It is also on the site www.acne.org.

The regimen includes: First washing your face with a cleanser (suggested ones are on the site)

Then, drying and adding LARGE AMOUNTS or Benzyl Peroxide. In the beginning very little but you rank it up to 2 fingers after time.

Last, you moisturize, because the Benzyl Peroxide may dry up your skin. Suggested ones are on the website as well.

Go to www.acne.org and read about the clear skin regimen.

THIS MAN IS NOT TRYING TO MAKE MONEY...HE IS NOT SELLING ANYTHING!

He just wants to help. I have clear skin and so does Dan. There is also a forum where you can read more. The site teaches you how to pop a zit the right way and to find out other products that have work well.

I hope I Helped!

(My brother who is also a teen is clear as well. This regimen takes about 8 weeks to be completely clear but you will see gradually the acne go away. There is no cure for acne, so you have to do the regimen every day until acne goes away.)

iT WORKS ON BACK ACNE AS WELL.|||well try laser sugery or stem treatment|||Yes, a dermatologist would be a good idea. However, you must also realize that acne is not just about the external. In fact, acne results from imbalances and/or deficiancies within the body. Treat the internal cause of the acne, and your acne will lessen or even disappear. The problem with Proactive and so many other acne creams is that they only treat the surface of the skin, but not the actual underlying problem. The causes for such imbalances/deficiencies can vary depending on the individual, but the following are most common:

1.) Hormonal imbalance during adolescense

2.) Diet- injesting too much sugar, saturated %26amp; trans fat can cause it, as well as preservatives, chemicals in food, and highly processed foods (breads, crackers, chips, ect.) because these throw your body chemistry out of whack. Some people are very sensitive to carbohydrates, so they must take care to consume low glycemic foods and healthy fats.%26gt;%26gt;%26gt; Personal Story- when I cut ALL sugar and processed carbs (breads, crackers, chips, ect.) out of my diet and ate primarilly lean meats and vegetables while supplementing with cod liver oil, my acne cleared up and my skin glowed!

3.) Lack of omega 3 fatty acids in diet and/or imbalance of Omega 6 vs. Omega 3. Omega 3%26#039;s can be found in fatty fish, flax seed, and walnuts. If you hate fish and are afraid of the calories in walnuts, a teaspoon of flaxseed oil a few times a day with meals will help.

4.) Wheat/gluten and/or Dairy intollerance. Many people are slightly allergic to foods high in gluten such as wheat (common), as well as dairy products and this can manifest itself as acne. The best test to see if your acne is wheat/gluten/dairy related is to cut out all wheat products and other gluten-containing grains and or dairy for 2 weeks. If this doesn%26#039;t drastically improve your acne, it will definately help your body to take on a more lean appearance. *Note- Many people are hesistant to cut dairy due to calcium concerns. Dairy is not the only source of calcium. In fact, dark green vegetables are a superior source to dairy products. I purchased a Jack LaLane Juicer and I juice Kale and collard greens 2x per day as well as eating organic baby green salad 3-4X a day and it has seriously cleared my acne up as well as providing tons of energy!

Feel free to e-mail me for more info. or if you have any questions...I%26#039;m a personal trainer, so I enjoy helping people. I found out all this stuff through my own research as I was getting fed up with acne just like you and I was frustrated that nothing seemed to work.

Lets Say I want to be a Dermatologist? ?

Okay so I decided I want to be a dermatologist

Right now I%26#039;m a sophmore In highschool and was wondering how I should go about achieving this?

What classes should I start taking In highschool, what%26#039;s a good school to go to for college, what should be my major? Minor?|||A lot of science and health courses in your high school will help if they ofter them but I%26#039;m not sure what you%26#039;d have to take in college.

HELP! I need someone that knows a lot about SKIN...maybe a dermatologist? IMPORTANT?

Yesterday I went to the beach, I am vacationing on mexico, and the sun here is really strong, I wen%26#039;t there with a lot of friends and all of us wanted to get a really nice tan, I am really white like a piece of paper, so I didn%26#039;t use sunscreen, I just use tanning oil, the same tanning oil that everyone was using,,, after 6 hours of sun exposition everyone was, red or dark skin toned, but me, I was as white as I started, too white, and everyone was really impresed how my skin was the same white as I start and everyone else was so burned!

I don%26#039;t remember never having this problem with my skin, but is there a medical explanation? because I really feel like an alien right now!!!!...thank you all|||THAT%26#039;S BECAUSE YOU are and alien!!!|||well that%26#039;s a good thing. you didn%26#039;t burn. maybe the oil you used protected your skin. doesn%26#039;t sound like a bad thing. you didn%26#039;t damage your skin. congrats.|||try self tanner

the spray on stuff so it goes on evenly unlike the lotion.

then use some sun tanning stuff while at the beach and just keep using the sunless tanner and the tanning stuff until you get the colour you want.

as for why you wont tan. I%26#039;m really white too and I%26#039;ve been in Florida for a few months and I%26#039;m still very white- not the least bit tan....so I guess it all depends on the person.

Dermatologist question..someone please help??? acne..?

im going to a dermatologist on the 7th of june. i mean my ance is not that bad right now. but iv always had some sort of acne ever since i was like in 6th grade. im now in 10th. should i be able to see results before the end of the month after i get treatment because im going on vacation. i was just wondering if anyone knew... or had some advice. do you think it would be all clear up?|||You can do several things to improve acne. There are even some things you can as an overnight home pimple remedy.

If you are hoping for fast treatment you could try one of the over-the-counter creams or lotions as an overnight home pimple remedy.

Some people think that an overnight home pimple remedy is to pop the pimples. This is not a good overnight home pimple remedy. It is better to leave them alone.

Another overnight home pimple remedy is to wash with a soap that contains aloe vera. This may not clear up the acne immediately but it can help.

A cleansing diet can be a good way to begin an overnight home pimple remedy plan. Another idea when starting an overnight home pimple remedy program is to make sure the acne is not caused by allergies to foods, cosmetics or other products.

Check with your doctor for an idea for overnight home pimple remedy. Your doctor may refer you to a dermatologist who may also have an overnight home pimple remedy.

Magazines sometimes have the latest thoughts and things to try if you are looking for an overnight home pimple remedy.

Your pharmacist may be helpful if you are searching for an overnight home pimple remedy. She may be able to recommend a product that the pharmacy carries.

You can clean your skin with apple cider vinegar as an overnight home pimple remedy. Another overnight home pimple remedy consists of cleaning your skin with lemon juice.

One overnight home pimple remedy may work better for you than another. Try different remedies until you find the one that works for you.

Dermatologist//facialist?

are they the same thing??

what is a description of the job

how much schooling does it take

what is the average salary|||Never heard facialist before, but Dermatologist is an MD who specialized in skin care. Med school after 4 yr. college

The people who do facials are estheticians and school varies around a year or two. Salary depends wher you work and whether you are employee or independent contractor.

Dermatologist help?

hi

I have mild acne i guess you could call it.

I basically just have redness in the face and pimples here and there. and ance scars

i have pretty much tried every product there is.. Is it time for me to go to a dermotologist? I heard some ppl saying they give you pills that help clear up acne and blance stuff in your body.

Should i go? i really want clear skin. has anyone gone to one and it has truely helped clear up there face?|||Accutane is the only real %26quot;cure%26quot; for acne available. All other creams, exfoliates, topical medication as well as oral meds must be taken indefinitely or you will start breaking out again,

I took Accutane about 15 years ago for the first time and had no problems whatsoever with it. I have since had a booster dosage about 8 years ago and my skin is great now. I had horrible cystic acne growing up and still have scars on my face from those acne years.

I put all three of my children on Accutane the minute they started breaking out as teenagers (around 14-16) because I did not want then to have the scars that I have. They handled the drug just fine. All three have since had booster rounds. (yea, I%26#039;m ancient--51 yrs old! ha!)

You also really do need a good skin cleaning regiment.

Pro Active, Neurtragena or Clearasil products are fine--just get the stuff for acne and use it consistently. I also add Oxy 10 pads after I clean my face as it tends t get off the dirt/oils that regular cleaning miss. It%26#039;s like the rinse cycle in the washing machine. Then add your other topical products that have salicylic acid and benzoil peroxide 10%. An oil-free moisturizer is a must, especially when you are on Accutane.

Yes, you can have clear skin. Accutane works.|||Have you tried Rectin A? Never mind about the product.

The truth about the clear skin is you have to make sure you%26#039;ve got enough sleep as well as water. Make sure you%26#039;ve at least 7 hours of sound sleep a day and drink as much water as possible but dont over-do it. Try what I said for about 2 weeks and you%26#039;ll see your skin getting smoother and months will give you a significant result. (of course dont stress too much about anything)|||Have you tried Proactive Solutions? That is what i use and it worked really great. If you have and have tried everything else, probably a dermatologist is a good idea.|||You could see a dermatologist if you%26#039;d like. The thing with any skin product is that you%26#039;re never going to see overnight results. It takes a good 4-6 weeks of a skin regimen to really see a difference and if you%26#039;re giving up on a program after a week or two out of frustration, then you%26#039;re not giving it long enough. I love neutrogena products. I started using them as a teen and still use them as an adult and this was recommended by my dermatologist. She said to wash twice a day with the acne-prone facial bar (it%26#039;s in an orange and white box). If my skin got too dry then cut down to once a day. I have oily skin, so I don%26#039;t use a moisturizer unless I%26#039;m going out in the sun. I also use proactive when I%26#039;m not home and that has worked well too.

Need To Talk To Any Dermatologist please =]]?

I dont really care about the price but reather the stongest working Acne kit.

I Found this on on the web.

Is this a good one?

Thanks for your time|||strongest med on the market you can get for sever acne is isotretinoin (A.K.A. Accutane). so strong that you have your blood tested every month to stay on it. hard med to take. lots of possible side affects. especially for women. but was the only acne med that ever worked for me and I%26#039;ve been on everything that a doc can prescribe and most over the counter meds. haven%26#039;t tried that orovo though.

i%26#039;m gonna be a sophomore in highschool, i know its a little early to start thinking about career options, but ever since i can remember i%26#039;ve wanted to be a journalist, but lately i%26#039;ve been thinking about becoming a dermatologist, because i love taking care of my skin. do you think i should keep wanting to become a dermatologist or just stick to journalism which i%26#039;ve wanted to be for years, and also i wanted to become a dermatologist because its a respectable profession which pays good money. P.s. i dont like blood or surgeries but i wouldnt mind giving a botox injection or anything lke that.|||In order to become a dermatologist, you have to become an M.D. first. That means that you need to spend 7 years observing and doing surgery. There will be blood, make no mistake about it. Also all manner of suppurating excemas and infected cysts.

Can u find a dermatologist in island of St.Martin?

it says that there are hospitals available, you can try the local health system or the hospitals, good luck

Why are dermatologists completely incompetent and useless for helping people rid themselves of acne?

congratulations, you%26#039;re one a few that know this. they do not even try to look at the root cause of acne. %26#039;here take these pills and give me money%26#039;. its not that not all of them don%26#039;t know anything, its just the government refuses to allow them to prescribe anything else or talk about real effective eays to get rid of acne.|||They are useless for most things due to the nature of skin conditions. But how can they cure acne when there is no cure and no apparent cause? Only topical treatments?|||I know, they are idiots when it comes to other skin conditions too. Have you tried eliminating dairy from your diet? I%26#039;ve heard that helps. :)

Kiss My Face. Has anyone tried their products. are they dermatologist recommended.?

I don%26#039;t know about dermatologist recommended, but if it%26#039;s what I%26#039;m thinking of I like um! They have great colors and I have never had a %26quot;major%26quot; break out when using their products, but then again I haven%26#039;t had %26quot;major%26quot; break out in a long time! KNOCK ON WOOD!!! LOL If you are conserned you could just call a dermatologist and ask. They usually won%26#039;t charge you or make you come in just to ask one question. Good Luck!|||Hand soaps, hand %26amp; body creams all excellent. No problems found by me.|||I%26#039;ve tried various lotions from them and they have worked really well for me but i%26#039;m not sure if they are dermatologist recomended

Should I see a dermatologist??

I dont really have %26quot;acne%26quot; i just want clear skin and nothing i use gets rid of the little bumps I have. What would a dermatologist be able to do for me?|||you might just hav a bad case of dry skin.....when skin get really dry it get bumpy and sometimes rough.....try lotion twice daily if possible

trust me|||they would diagnose the problem. Tell you whats wrong and how to fix it. You should go and see the dermatioligist.|||Actually you should just try ProActive. Its relatively inexpensive and works excellently. You will spend way less money than going to the dermatologist.

When you are a dermatologist....?

Will you just work with laser stuff for your acne, or

will you have to work with the whole body????|||you will deal with all skin diseases.

Going to the Dermatologist?

Did going to the dermatologist help your skin? I went in December and they prescribed me to take Tetracycline pills twice a day. I am going to see them again next week, but I%26#039;m not sure if the pills helped my face any. Do you think I should try something different or do you think I just need to give the pills some more time?

Thanks for your help :-)|||7 months ago I went to my 3rd dermatologist for a 3rd opinion and a last shot at clearing up a 4 yr run of acne. Get off the tetracycline and talk to your derm about taking accuante and in 6 months your skin will be 100% clear.

I no longer have any acne at all. :)

What is a dermatologist?

just wondering|||a skin, nail, and hair doctor-

that treats physical flaws- illness- or deformities on the exterior flesh-

dermatologists treat acne, vitiligo, nail fungus- eczema, rashes, dandruffs, scars, bruises, scratches, etc-

dermatologists try to treat and prevent future skin, nail, and hair problems-|||Dermatologists, or skin care doctors, have expertise in the care of normal skin as well as in the prevention and treatment of a wide variety of skin conditions, including skin cancers.

Dermatologists also diagnose and treat people with disorders affecting the hair and nails. In addition, dermatologists are knowledgeable in the management of cosmetic disorders of the skin (for example, hair loss and scars).|||skin specialist, answer mine

Can dermatologists help will hair lost?

I%26#039;m 26 years old and my hair is thinning. It%26#039;s gotten worse over the past year. I actually have patches of bald spots. I was wondering if anyone knew if seeing a dermatologist can help. Maybe they can recommend treatment.|||Yes, go to a dermatologist. I had the same problem and a dermatologist solved my problem immediately. I had atypical seborrhea. An over the counter shampoo solved the problem. However, you may have a different problem. Make an appointment!|||Dermatologist%26#039;s often do surgeries to help regrow hair follices, they can be about a thousand dollars, but it is definetely worth it.

Stieva-A to start using for my acne/clogged pores skin, but he said I%26#039;m gonna need to apply sunblock on my face. The thing is I already have sensitive skin, prone to redness, even he said so, but my skin also had oily tendancies. So I%26#039;m gonna need something that has SPF15+, is good for acne/clogged pores and wont clog skin...also not too harsh for sensitive skin. What do I do if I want to use a moisturizer now? Is there a SPF with moisturizing ingredients for the face?|||I would suggest nicomide cream you can get without a doctor. Only thing that worked for me. It%26#039;s also a moisturizer/sunblock.

Sun Damage @ Dermatologist?

I recently watched a program and saw people at the dermatologist having their picture taken with a special camera, and it shows them all of their sun damage under the skin, what you can%26#039;t see. Does anybody know what this procedure is called? I would love to have it done!|||I know what you%26#039;re talking about but no I don%26#039;t know what it%26#039;s called. Just go make an appointment with the dermatologist and they%26#039;ll know what you%26#039;re talking about. PS I watched that program too!!!

I have a really weird skin condition - my dermatologist never told me what it was. HELP!!!?

Well, for the past 4 years, I%26#039;ve been getting this weird allergic reaction to getting scratched or rubbed anywhere. I don%26#039;t know how I got to be allergic, since I had no signs of it before the age of 13, now I%26#039;m 17 and I still suffer with the same damn thing. I have really sensitive skin now, it gets red from just rubbing it, and when I scratch myself, I get puffy lines, it%26#039;s especially annoying when my face itches because it becomes inflamed and itchy. I went and saw a dermatologist around 3 years ago, and they told me that they didn%26#039;t know what it was or how to treat it. I take medicine now but it doesn%26#039;t do anything except take away the puffiness. That%26#039;s all. If there%26#039;s anyone who can help me get rid of this stupid skin problem, I%26#039;d greatly appreciate it. And if you%26#039;re thinking its because I have dry skin- it%26#039;s not. I apply lotion everywhere and still, when I rub myself- it burns and itches. Not a fun thing. Please give me answers to what it is and possible solutions. Thank you.|||dermatographia...??

Dermagraphia

Dermatographic urticaria (also known as dermographism, dermatographism or%26quot;skin writing%26quot;)is a skin disorder seen in about 5 percent of the population,in which the skin becomes raised and inflamed when touched, even lightly. Dermatographic urticaria is caused by mast cells in the surface of the skin releasing histamines due to the presence of a weak membrane surrounding the mast cells. The histamines released cause the skin to swell in the affected areas.

This weak membrane easily and rapidly breaks down under physical pressure causing an allegic-like reaction, generally a red welt to appear on the skin. It can often be confused with an allergic reaction to the object causing a scratch, when in fact it is the act of being scratched that causes a welt to appear. These wheals are a subset of hives that appear within minutes, accompanied by a sensation of burning, and/or itchiness. The redness and swelling stays from anywhere upwards of 10 minutes. Often this leads to difficulty sleeping, irritability, and general discomfort.

It can be treated by antihistamines or cromoglicate, as they prevent the histamine from causing the reaction. The underlying cause of dermographism is not known, and can last for many years without relief. 95% of chronic cases are never solved. Sometimes the condition goes away, sometimes it stays forever. It is not a life threatening disease.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?鈥?/a>|||call your doc and ask the nurse to read your chart|||You can become allergic to anything at any point in your life. Something that didn%26#039;t bother you on Monday may cause a reaction on Tuesday! Also, allergies tend to become prominent in some people during puberty - which sounds like the timeframe that you began having this problem.

It does sound like an allergy. If it is on your entire body, think about what soap or body wash you are using that may be causing the sensitivity and try a different brand. If it is only on your face, change the products you are using and see if it stops or at least improves.

It is also possible that you are getting a reaction to something you are eating. (Sounds strange, but it does happen.) Dairy, eggs, nuts and shellfish are common triggers. Pay attention to what you eat and how irritated your skin becomes and you may make a connection.

Allergies can be tricky to diagnose and treat so I would recommend seeing an allergist. They will be able to do a skin test (harmless and painless) and give you a good idea of what is causing it.

Good luck! :)|||Hi, it sounds like you may have something called dermographism. It is a form of hives (urticaria). Here%26#039;s a website with some info and pictures. http://dermnetnz.org/reactions/dermograp鈥?/a>

Antihistamines like benadryl, claritin or aerius can help treat this condition.

Hopefully this helps!

Clearer skin? Dermatologist?

I know I don%26#039;t look too happy in this pic. It%26#039;s probably because of my bad skin lol. Can someone tell me what kind of skin problem this is and what to do about it? They%26#039;re not bumps, more like spots. My skin isn%26#039;t smooth though either.

http://img529.imageshack.us/my.php?image=me010gv2.jpg|||See a doctor.

]But also, mix baking soda, yes baking soda, with water to make it creamy, then apply it to your face, neck, back, wherever u have acne, spots, scars or whatever, it really helps with a lot, it makes your sking so radiant.

I didnt c the pic, but I put baking soda once on my face, I didnt have acne or anything, but still I noticed how clean my face was, and I know people who did have tons of acne and all and baking soda helped.|||Okay, your skin isnt THAT bad!!

dont worry, just keep washing and using over-the-counter creams and cleansers, also once your finished with the teenager stage it should start clearing itself up...

if it upsets you that much get a prescription acne medecine from you doctor!

But trust me, your acne isnt that bad (i%26#039;ve seen wayyy worse, like big massive poosy ones)|||use the wave and your skin%26#039;s not that bad use the wave and it will in prove!!

Anesthesiologist vs. dermatologist?

i cant decide what i want to be. Both jobs sound fascinating to me. what are the pros and cons of each job and what is the average salary|||Both require a medical degree. You don%26#039;t choose a specialty until you apply for residency programs.

Those two specialties are SO different. You have to get through medical school and see what interests you when you actually DO it.

If you%26#039;re doing it for the money, forget medicine. Seriously.

Neither specialty has trouble paying the bills.

Cost of dermatologist?

whats the cost of a dermatologist visit without any type of insurance?|||Well, you would have to call the Dermatologist and ask them. Sometimes different Physicians will charge differently depending on insured or not insured. So, the only real way to know is to call and ask. They should tell you if you explain that you don%26#039;t have insurance and want to find out first to make sure you can afford it.|||The best you can do is call the dermatologist places and ask them since different treatments are all different and the doctors charge different as well.|||well..id say in the 190 area. i live in newyork so i dont know. and it depends on the guy u go to. they dont all charge like a dermo price. lol

Would a dermatologist cure ?

would they cure keratosis pilaris

%26amp; white skin fungus on my back ?????????|||If you have keratosis pilaris, you are not alone. Worldwide, keratosis pilaris affects an estimated 40 to 50% of the adult population and approximately 50 to 80% of all adolescents. It CANNOT be cured, but treated.

AS for the fungus, a general doctor or dermatologist can prescribe you an ointment or pill to get rid of that. Usually a anti-fungal cream will get rid of it. Just make sure you are washing regularly and applying the cream to clean skin. Also, since the fungus may be on your clothing make sure to clean and sanitize your wardrobe, or it will come back. Good Luck|||If they can. You don%26#039;t have any other choices.

Going to dermatologist?

I%26#039;m going tomorrow. I%26#039;m 13. I have psorisis (wrong spelling?) on my arm. Just a little bit of it. Can you tell me what the doctor is going to do? What will happen? I just need a heads up thanks|||Is that the thing where you have colored patches?

Been to dermatologist?

hi, i went to the dermatologist this morning regarding a suspicious mole on my leg, he checked them all out and luckily said it was benign, can they tell just from looking, also he said i dont have to go back unless i see something funny going on with them, thing is i have well over 100 so should i seek more advice or take his word for it, thanks.|||If he didn%26#039;t biopsy it he can not be 100% sure. Have a second opinion. Beauty marks, moles, freckles and such if are semi dermal are usually nothing. If it is raised [which is the oppisite of semi dermal] then it needs to be biopsied.

lthough beauty marks are moles not all moles can be considered beauty marks. There are generally a few conditions in order for beauty marks to rank as a feature instead of a problem spot. However beauty is always in the eye of the beholder.

First, most beauty marks are usually sub-dermal which means below the surface of the skin. A mole that protrudes above the surface of the skin is usually found by most to by somewhat unattractive. Beauty marks can protrude a little and most are raised slightly.|||If you think any of them have changed (?? %26#039;suspicious%26#039;) get, at least, a punch biopsy.

Yeast Infection??... Dermatologist?

I think I am suffering from some kind of bacteria/yeast infection around my genitals. It causes itching and has subsequently led to darkening of skin around genitals. It is almost uniformly spread around my genitals. Can a Dermatologist cure the problem?|||Go to a dermatologist.

Wash as often as you can and use something like Zeasorb-AF powder. Do not use anything with corn starch as yeast love corn starch. Switch to boxers if you wear jockeys as they permit more air to circulate and wear loose shorts (no underwear) at home. You may want to use sprays or lotions too. |||You need a physician to diagnose the problem. However, in the meantime, you need to know more about what male yeast infection is, the symptoms and natural cures that you can administer in your home. I have provided some valuable sources below that you can check out, but in the meantime, I would like to put in my two cents.

Male Yeast Infection is usually the result of using antibiotics for a prolonged period. It is harder to detect yeast infection in men than women because of the physical different in built between both genders. Men will go for a longer period not knowing that their condition is associated with candida and may possible be misdiagnosed by a doctor, if the condition is not examined properly.

Sometimes it may take the female partner to first inform the male that he has yeast infection because she has it as well. Doctors may prescribe an anti-fungal treatment, which does not cure the male yeast infection and so allows for a recurring yeast infection and a cycle of the same thing happening to both parties again.

Male yeast infection or penile yeast infection as it is sometimes called shows up with cracked and dry skin that can be painful during an erection.

Yeast infection causes in men result from antibiotics as discussed before, yeast infection beer or alcohol, sex, products that contain wheat, sugar, peanuts, and a possible immune system that is week. Diabetic men are prone to develop yeast infection because of their high sugar level.

Male Yeast Infection Symptoms are seen in the form of constipation, problems with indigestion, sexual dysfunction, irritable mood swings, low energy, loss of memory, jock itch, skin itching, athletes foot, and prostate problems.
