Dermatologist? Dentist? Veterinarian? (Career Choice Question)?

I%26#039;m a high school junior and I%26#039;m aware I don%26#039;t need to make any career choices just yet. However, I am very interested in dematology, dentistry, and the idea of being a veterinarian. I was just curious if anyone could walk me through the steps to either or both careers. What schooling/grades are necessary? Average salaries starting out, salaries once you%26#039;ve been in the field a while. If either a dentist or a dermatologist could answer and give feedback, that would be greatly appreciated!

I get fairly good grades. Unweighted GPA is over 4.0, weighted GPA is much higher. I%26#039;ll graduate with 8 AP courses, lots of honors and CP.... I don%26#039;t know what grades are necessary to get into any of the above fields...?|||Don%26#039;t stress out too much about what you%26#039;re going to do in life. MANY college students change their majors multiple times and have no idea what they want to do right away. With your academic standing and awesome grades, I%26#039;m sure you can get into any school you want if you try hard. Worst comes to worst, just go in undeclared. The undeclared major is one of the most popular and highest numbering majors in most colleges. Either way, you knock out most of your general education courses in your first 1 or 2 years, and then leave a nice open path to choose which field you want to major in.

Heck, even if you major in something, get a degree in it, and find out that you want to go a different way in life, go for it! A college degree isn%26#039;t a prison sentence! Do what makes you happy, and don%26#039;t do it for the money.

If you%26#039;re looking for straight out money, be a dentist. They really rack in the dough.

But do what your heart tells you to do. And talk A LOT with your guidance counsellor. They can tell you all the answers.

Good luck!|||u better have all As throughout high school and college to do any of that stuff|||i need to say here as an educator you should just aim for your heart%26#039;s desire even if it is tough to achieve.

don%26#039;t forget that you will be doing the same job in every moment of your life after you start working and it will cover the greatest part of your life generally speaking.

also bear in mind that sometimes life opens and closes different paths and shows us things that we may have never even considered if the situation hadn%26#039;t been so.

i don%26#039;t know what career i would be pursuing now if i hadn%26#039;t been expelled from high school for no apparent reason but that made me want to become a teacher and now i am teaching English at a collage as a lecturer and am on my way to becoming a professor.

who knows, maybe in a few years you will just discover a special talent of yours towards an artistic or athletic career or recieve an offer which you can not refuse =).

good luck in life...
