Dermatologist for the first time?

so i have acne and i am FINALLY going to the dermatologist.

i was wondering what i should be expecting,

i shouldn%26#039;t wear foundation right?

what will he prescribe?

how long will it take to work?

thanks for all answers!:)|||Definitely. Don%26#039;t wear any make up. Make sure your face is cleaned too.

Depending on how severe the acne is, you may be prescribed a certain type of wash, a medicine, or you could get benzoyl peroxide injected.

Honestly, the doctor would be the best one to ask all these questions. And don%26#039;t stress about the appearance of acne. Its all natural. Good luck!|||Well it would probably be best not to wear foundation, because it gives them a better look at what will work best for you. If you did wear make up they would probably just tell you not too untill your skin clears up.

They could depending on how bad your acne is recommend a product, or give you a prescription. It could be topical, which is usually what they start with, meaning you use it on the skin, or oral, which they would probably prescribe if the topical doesn%26#039;t work, or your case is very serious.

With any acne medication I have found that things got worse before they got better, my skin either got really really dry or really painful, but in about two weeks it started to clear up! Whatever the doctor recommends for you, stick with it! I hope that it works out well for you:)|||try not wearing make up because that just makes doctors job easier. he%26#039;ll just blame it on you wearing too much make up. |||He will ask you to take your clothes off.
