For the dry parts, ask your dermatologist for a moisturizer. Mine gave me some that worked amazingly, but I can%26#039;t remember what its called...sorry!|||There is this new popular cream that people have been talking about.

It was even televised on TV.

It prevents future and existing acne, diminishes scars, and lightens skin and blemishes. Fast results too! (It has been claimed that major results can be seen within a week and no later than two weeks)

Before and After photos are available at the given ebay site.

This person is providing 1-3 week trial samples (Only for ONE DOLLAR.. definitely a deal) on ebay at:

Search up %26quot;best acne solution ever%26quot; on ebay.

First 100 customers can get the item for $1 for one week trial and up to 3 weeks. Or you can buy the whole container for $160

It%26#039;s expensive, but the product DOES work.

My sister and cousin who both have major acne have tried the product and they both give it thumbs up. I have also heard many great feedbacks about this cream.

I don%26#039;t have a problem with acne, but it seems to have great results on my sister who has moderate to severe acne. Her acne swelling went away overnight.

I hope this helps. =)|||Most prescription acne medications appear to worsen within the first month but will clear up.

It takes time for it to fully heal and go away and sometimes you might have to use it after it goes away to make sure it doesn%26#039;t come back.

Dermatologist? Dentist? Veterinarian? (Career Choice Question)?

I%26#039;m a high school junior and I%26#039;m aware I don%26#039;t need to make any career choices just yet. However, I am very interested in dematology, dentistry, and the idea of being a veterinarian. I was just curious if anyone could walk me through the steps to either or both careers. What schooling/grades are necessary? Average salaries starting out, salaries once you%26#039;ve been in the field a while. If either a dentist or a dermatologist could answer and give feedback, that would be greatly appreciated!

I get fairly good grades. Unweighted GPA is over 4.0, weighted GPA is much higher. I%26#039;ll graduate with 8 AP courses, lots of honors and CP.... I don%26#039;t know what grades are necessary to get into any of the above fields...?|||Don%26#039;t stress out too much about what you%26#039;re going to do in life. MANY college students change their majors multiple times and have no idea what they want to do right away. With your academic standing and awesome grades, I%26#039;m sure you can get into any school you want if you try hard. Worst comes to worst, just go in undeclared. The undeclared major is one of the most popular and highest numbering majors in most colleges. Either way, you knock out most of your general education courses in your first 1 or 2 years, and then leave a nice open path to choose which field you want to major in.

Heck, even if you major in something, get a degree in it, and find out that you want to go a different way in life, go for it! A college degree isn%26#039;t a prison sentence! Do what makes you happy, and don%26#039;t do it for the money.

If you%26#039;re looking for straight out money, be a dentist. They really rack in the dough.

But do what your heart tells you to do. And talk A LOT with your guidance counsellor. They can tell you all the answers.

Good luck!|||u better have all As throughout high school and college to do any of that stuff|||i need to say here as an educator you should just aim for your heart%26#039;s desire even if it is tough to achieve.

don%26#039;t forget that you will be doing the same job in every moment of your life after you start working and it will cover the greatest part of your life generally speaking.

also bear in mind that sometimes life opens and closes different paths and shows us things that we may have never even considered if the situation hadn%26#039;t been so.

i don%26#039;t know what career i would be pursuing now if i hadn%26#039;t been expelled from high school for no apparent reason but that made me want to become a teacher and now i am teaching English at a collage as a lecturer and am on my way to becoming a professor.

who knows, maybe in a few years you will just discover a special talent of yours towards an artistic or athletic career or recieve an offer which you can not refuse =).

good luck in life...

It only last for a few mins but I have to put

That should calm downt he itching and burning.|||I%26#039;m a dermatologits

Dermatologist question!?

I get prescribed Econazole Nitrate Cream 1% for a skin condition. Is there anything I can use over the counter?

I don%26#039;t have insurance and don%26#039;t want to pay a $90 office visit to be prescribed this stuff.

Any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated.

I have asked this before and got one answer. They told me to use Proactive. But they didn%26#039;t tell me what product and if there were any special instructions. This is not for acne of any kind if this is what they thought.

Thank you.|||I would look up your prescription medication on the Internet and see what condition it is used for. See if the conditions that are listed ring a bell as far as what type of skin condition you have. Without knowing the condition you have, I wouldn%26#039;t want to tell you what to use.

I would also suggest that you talk to your pharmacist to see what he/she has to say about anything over the counter.

Good Luck!|||It would help a great deal if you could tell what the skin condition is.|||First of all, a fungal skin infection should not go untreated as it can spread %26amp; cause scarring as well as skin discoloration. Proactive is for acne only, NOT fungal skin infections. You need a prescription drug to control %26amp; eradicate the fungus.

Second, educate yourself fully about your condition. Ask your doctor what preventive measures you should take to control or eliminate outbreaks. What caused this outbreak in the first place? Can you change your diet? Should you change your personal hygiene regimen? What can you do to improve your condition as well as make it worse?

Third, your doctor needs to keep an eye on your skin condition, which is why you need an appointment before he%26#039;ll provide prescription refills. However, if your general practitioner is treating you, you really ought to ask for a referral to a dermatologist for specialized treatment of skin diseases/disorders. The fungal infection may take several months to clear up. If this is not the case, you really need to be more proactive %26amp; aggressive with your doctor.

Last, ask your doctor if another, less expensive drug preferably a generic one, would be as effective as Econazole Nitrate. Whatever s/he prescribes, ask him/her to provide you with a prescription stating that a generic substitute is permissible AND a prescription that has several refills. Also ask him/her whether or not s/he has free samples of the drug that he can provide you.

Dermatologist questions?

My dermatologist says I should take Cetaphil to relieve my rosacea and seborrheic dermatitis on my skin. I can describe my rosacea as being very blotchy, pimply and red. It is even pimply under my breast, my arm pits, neck, behind ears, and face. As for my seborrheic dermatitis it is extremely dry. I have moderate to high severity of rosacea. Aren%26#039;t they%26#039;re drying effects and other ingredients in cetaphil that will make it more red and dry. What other ingredients in other products besides those in cetaphill will make my skin breakout? I want to avoid those products. I am having a breakout right now but can%26#039;t reach my dermatologist until may 22nd. I have tried eucerin sensitive facial skin daily perfecting lotion in spf 15 and that only made my skin very red and dry. What ingredients are doing this? Are there other creams you can recommend to me please? I don%26#039;t want my skin to look this bad until the 22nd. I want something that is over the counter that I can buy at any drugstore possibly. Thank you. I don%26#039;t have alot of money to spend as of now. Possibly something that is $25 or under.|||Hi! I used to work for a derm. and he would always recommend ceraVe wash and lotion. It is very gentle and when I use it it makes my face soooooo soft. They sell it in cvs, rite aide. It costs $10-$12 a bottle. Good Luck! Jennifer|||Cetaphil is very gentle and should not cause break outs. There are 2 versions; normal to dry skin and normal to oily skin. Find the best one for you.

It%26#039;s also about 8-10 dollars.

Dermatologist or Urologist?

I have this condition. Whenever I rub my penis either during foreplaying or masturbating...no matter how gentle I do it, it hurts..afterwards, my penis kinda becomes swollen-like..I have chumps-like of swollen skins on my penis( wherever I touched it)..I also feel that my penis is very heavy. Also the internal skin of my penis become very red. it stays that way for a couple of hours and goes away a couple of hours, 8 or more. I don%26#039;t have health insurance, so should i go see a dermatologist or urologist?|||Definetely a Urologist, Planned parenthood has a free clinic.

Dermatologist/Dentist and fear of needles?

When I was ten I had to go five times to a foot doctor and every time I got three shots. Which were extremely painful. I also went to the dentist twice in the same month that year, and both times they gave me a shot in the gums. Needless to say, that hurt like hell too.

Ever since then whenever I see or think about a needle, I start crying, shaking, and hyperventilating.

Today my grandma got home and told me that she made both an appointment at the dermatologist and the dentist for tomorrow. I have a plantar wart on my toe, and it actually has been going away on it%26#039;s own. But I don%26#039;t want either of them to get close to me with a needle. I%26#039;m going to the dentist for a filling. Obviously, I%26#039;m really scared...

I%26#039;ve tried getting out of the appointments, and it didn%26#039;t work. Is there any way to get over the fear, by tomorrow morning?|||Ask your dentist if he offers nitrous to calm you before the shot. Also a topical numbing cream will be put on the gums to help make the shot less painful. Remember that a tooth ache is far worse than a shot to fill and prevent a worse situation. Take it easy and talk to the dentist and skin

dr. to explain your fears and they will surely put you at ease.|||just don%26#039;t think about it. i%26#039;m almost the same way. needles freak me out, but if i concentrate on something else i don%26#039;t freak out and almost run away from the doctor haha. i really do freak out if i think about it though. ughhhhh! i hate needles!

Dermatologist prescription works, but leaves my skin dry and flaky. Help?

The things that my dermatologist prescribed me are working great. My skin is really clearing up. My only problem is that I do not think that they are %26#039;exfoliating%26#039; my skin and removing the dead skin, leaving it dry and flakey most of the time, even though I do moisterize.

He told me not to use other products than what was prescribed, as well.

Any ideas or tips as to how to make my skin less flaky and dry? Or good moisterizers that won%26#039;t irritate my treated skin and/or cause breakout?

Thanks a lot.

Best answer will be chosen.|||I also have problems with dry skin, and I have tried many different moisturizers and it only help my skin to feel god for some hours and then my skin dry es up again.

But the best thing I tried is baby oil it really works well, but

the best thing you can do is to buy yourself some OMEGA-3 pills you will see and feel god results after some weeks use.

Omega-3 is god for you%26#039;re heart, blood vessels, and skin.

I really feel that its working for me and I hope it will work for you to.

You can buy Omega-3 in the pharmacy.|||pure aloe, and the drinks will clear yourr system with out presciption drugs, not the aloe at the health food shops, that is too weakened down.

Dermatologist recommended skin care?

I have combination skin, extremely dry around my lips and chin, normal on my cheeks, forehead and nose. I have mild acne but whatever acne treatment I buy completely dries out my skin and eventually the mild acne returns. I have some whiteheads and a few flat red spots under the skin that are always there. No acne on my forehead, mostly around my chin and some around my nose, but as I said, it%26#039;s light. I want to have flawless skin, but this seems unlikely as my annoying combination skin is always so tight and even flakes on the skin around my mouth. And before you ask yes I use an exfoliant, a cleanser, a moisturizer ... I used Neutrogena On-the-Spot and my skin literally peeled ... can any dermatologist or someone who knows about this stuff help me?|||check your shampoo....you prob have rly sensative skin.....you have to get a shampoo with none of these!!

oh and for scars palmers products are good...they have a cocoa formulah soap that get%26#039;s rid of scars as you shower you will see the difference eventually. :))))))))))))))))))|||the extremely dry spots may be eczema|||I%26#039;ve been in that situation and there is really nothing you can do about it. There are things you can do to try to reduce the blemishes and get rid of acne/pimples temporarily but you will always be finding yourself cleaning your face or your body depending on where it%26#039;s at.

I mean of course your acne should go away eventually but for some this is the case their whole life.

I%26#039;m 29 years old and have been suffering from these little pests since I was a teenager. I tried all sorts of face washes from the local grocery store and what not, but nothing seemed to work. If anything it would just make my skin dry and itchy.

Literally the best acne face wash I%26#039;ve ever used has been this stuff called clearpores. It has got rid of the acne to quickest and has been a success ever since I got it. It%26#039;s unique cause of it%26#039;s herbal supplement you take a long with it that helps your skin from the inside out. I saved money on it at skincleansingsystem dot com at the time which was helpful.

You should really look into this stuff and if you can to assure the best results, get the 3 month supply because if it doesn%26#039;t work it will still save you butt on the return policy.

Well good luck and best wishes.

DERMATOLOGIST...R U THERE?

HOW DO I GET RID OF THESE???

They%26#039;re not bumps just little black dots....will mederma help fade these? They%26#039;re on my legs, and a little on my thighs and arms.

It looks like you have hyperpigmented follicles. It%26#039;s common on dark skin to have melanin deposit in hair follicles. I think you%26#039;re stuck with these, but don%26#039;t look at it as a bad thing. It%26#039;s like freckles, it makes you, you.

One other possibility is keratosis pilaris. This is a plugging of the follicle and happens on the areas you%26#039;re having trouble with. Usually, you can feel these as very small bumps, but maybe you have a mild case. OTC Lac-Hydrin 12% lotion will help reduce the appearance, but not completely.

A good scrub or wash cloth would do.

Dermatologist experiences ?!?

I am a guy and ever since i cut my hair short i have been noticing a lot of white flakes all over my hair ( dandruff, dry scalp or whatever !!). I have tried using various shampoos and even tried a couple of home remedies but haven%26#039;t noticed much of a change. One of my friends told me about this one this one dermatologist who successfully treated my firend%26#039;s scalp when he had chronic dandruff. I have also made an appointment with the same doctor for tomorrow but I am really freaking out about seeing a dermatologist. I dunno why but i am. Also i am not very comfortable with people putting their hands into my hair.. would the dermatologist do that too ?|||Are u serious??? I mean do u cut ur hair urself? Color urself? Do u like walk into a salon and say hey i am not comfortable with people touching my hair?? My guess is no..

Honestly dermatologist wont really like have to touch ur hair so much.. I mean one look at it and they will recommend u with medicated shampoos, some vitamin tablets probably. And probably some other remedies which u will have to do all by urself. So stop getting paranoid. And get ur drandruff treated like a good boy.|||yes they will have to put their hands in your hair. its no harm!|||did you try slsun blue i had very bad dandruff and so did my mom as soon as we started using it they went away. if you use it every other day or everyday it will work i think it did for me and befor that i used all types of stuff and nothing worked untill this try it befor you go and pay too much money of a dermotoligist|||well he would have to see the dandriff so he mighu touch you bet its not that bad most of em just look at your skin or hair and give you a prescription and the end well when i went that was ti i was out in under 30 min

Dermatologist help!! i have a hole in my arm that wont stop oozing puss. How do i make it stop??

I am a 28 yr Old male. I had a growth that developed from a pimple or bite on my arm that sort of healed over and became hard and dry skin. It would itch and i would scratch it. After 2 years i decided to get it removed. My local GP performed the Excsission. The results came back that it was nothing serious and probably just a oimple or bite that was continually infected from my scratching it. After 12 days the bandage and stiches were removed and it was healing nicely. But it never did heal. It opened up again and it would never skin over. If i leave it uncovered to dry out , it never scabs as there is fluid coming out from the inside. I went back to my GP and he recomended using DUODERM. After weeks of using this product, it continuessly sucks out puss from the wound! WIll it ever stop?? IS there something else i out there that i can try?|||It sounds like you may need an antibiotic to clear up the infection before it will heal. If you haven%26#039;t taken one since this all stared, I would talk to your doc about that. It could be a staph infection or something that really needs to be treated soon so that it doesn%26#039;t get worse. Dermatologist , anyone , beauty ?

i%26#039;ve heard that waxing facial hair makes hair grow back thicker and faster but some people said that it is the opposite.

i dont know what to believe.

is waxing a good solution to upper lip hair ? long term effect ?

can you get a pill that stop facial hair without prescription ?

about ingrown hair , why is it in my country (asia) no one gets ingrown hair but went i came to the US i started getting it. what is the cause ?

i mean, when i went but to my country they rarely know what it is and ask me if i have health problem.

it is the same with cellulite, we dont have it in my country.

plz tell me if you have experience each situation yourself or if you are educated in the medical field|||1. Waxing is the solution to the problem. It is often not permanent. Not every individual hair grows back, some are completely eradicated, although repetition is necessary.

2. The long term effect is nothing other than irritation and a increased or decreased neural sensitivity in the area. I know it hurts. You could be sensitized, or numbed, we don%26#039;t know.

3. You can not stop or retard hair growth without a female hormone prescription.

4. Ingrown hair is in a culture of people who shave that hair, wherever it may be. You knew that. Perhaps the other more sensible answer is that you are somehow exposed to testosterone or steroids in diets or meats in the US. This is present in male cows, since females are milking, and in male chicken (rooster), turkeys (toms), which we eat, not the females. More shaving is necessary.

5. Cellulite. On a pure diet of low fats, fish and Omega 3%26#039;s which assist in digestion and regularity because of low cholesterol, fatty deposit %26amp; cellulite is not encouraged. In the US, we eat a greater variety, not as healthy, not organic, and containing all kinds of lipids, hormone additives from the female standpoint as well, and insoluble fats that leave their deposit.|||I experienced bunch of differences in my body once I came to US. If you eat meat maybe one of the reasons. They use sometimes hormonal food which may mess with your methabolism and function of your body. I would keep myself on ahealthy diet and eat less meat.|||waxing will delay the hair growth as it will pull the hair from its root. it will take more time for the hair to grow back and it is better than hair removal creams or threading. cellulite and ingrown hair is common problem. when you dont do the waxing properly hair tends to grow inwards the skin. you have to cut down on carbohydrates and fatty foods to get rid of cellulite

You have to register for the site but it is free and it includes tons of extras. (look at the Psoriasis - Emergency Medicine one - a little easier to understand)

Just a basic explanation: Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease - in which the skin cells have increased turnover (days instead of a month)- and since they are building up more cells before the old ones can slough off, the patient develops thickened plaques of skin.

The increased turnover is in cells in the dermal layer.

About a year ago, i went to the dermatologist for a smooth, flat red spot on my cheek. i thought it was a pimple for the longest time, but then it didn%26#039;t go away. i had it for over a year. i was sick of covering it up. anyway, the dermatologist told me what it was called, but i can%26#039;t remember the name. She said it was a cluster of tangled blood vessels and that it simply needed to be lasered to remove it. she lasered it and it went away. now, it%26#039;s back, and it%26#039;s really bothering me that i can%26#039;t remember the name of it. Dermatologist question?

My friend who has mild acne is a vegetarian and he gets like most protein through dairy products, milk and cheeses. Like a few minutes ago I saw a link to the milk blog or sumthing and it said milk can cause acne. I dont want to freak him out but like shuld he be corcerned. is the dairy/milk thing causing acne true? what is it about milk that causes it. does fat free milk have a different effect than regular milk? i dont really want to tell him cuz he like works out and has a lot of dairy protein and if he cut dairy it would like super reduce his protein?

what should i tell him to do?|||Milk is actually proven that it can cause acne, doesn%26#039;t mean it will. The hormones in milk messes with your own bodies hormones. Tell your friend to stop drinking it for a while and just take a supplement for protein. If his face clears up while he stops drinking the milk than you know it%26#039;s from that.|||I highly doubt its the milk that is causing his acne. BUT, a while ago, in an attempt to get rid of my acne, i tried a detox diet which is an eating plan that really helps your skin, and i did notice that they cut out dairy, exept for plain yogurt once a day. so maybe there is some truth to it.

but if he%26#039;s looking for a subsitute protein, nuts and beans are a great source. or, bear with me, he could try tofu. i know this sounds disgusting, but i went vegitarian for a little while, and since i%26#039;m allergic to nuts i had to go for tofu. honestly it%26#039;s not that bad. especially if you cook i with something because then is soaks up all the flavor and it%26#039;s really nummy. =]] but if none of these options sounds reasonable, he could always take protein tablets.

Dermatologist said to not moisturize?

I finally went to the dermatologist today for my acne.

Right now its mostly just post acne scars and a little redness

(thank god my acne is calming down!)

Well I showed him what I used.

Face wash

another product

and finally

a moisturizer.

He told me that I should use a moisturizer

that it would just clog up my pores.

I told him I run in the morning and asked if sunscreen was okay

he said it was fine. Just to wash it off after.

I had always though moisturizer was good.

Now my face gets oily so its not very dry.

But I just wondering

without moisturizer won%26#039;t my makeup not go in as smoothly?

Any comments would be appreciated :)|||wow...my dermatologist said the same thing. My dermatologist is actually renowned here in nyc. anyways...if you really need moisturizer..use a noncomedogenic oil-free moisturizer. He probably said not to use yoru moisturizer because it wasn%26#039;t oil-free and it wasn%26#039;t noncomedogenic. noncomedogenic means it doesn%26#039;t clog pores btw. but if he said not to use moisturizer period..i would listen to him. hes the one who studied and went to med school which took YEARS!!! he knows more than anyone here on Y!A unless some dermatologist use Y!A. dont use moisturizer. i know its hard. you get so tempted. i get tempted too. ahh...MUST RESIST!!!and im surprised he said not to wear makeup as a lot clog pores.

however, your dermatologist said to wash off your sunscreen?? W-WHAT??? prescription acne products make you more sensitive to the sun and require sunscreen. my dermatologist stressed the sunscreen part. this time...go against the doctor%26#039;s orders. wear sunscreen. amke sure its oil-free and noncomedogenic.

EDIT**** despite what Marty C is saying...I would listen to your dermatologist. She didn%26#039;t go to med school. He did. Plus my dermatologist told me the same too. I have oil/combination skin so maybe thats why. So if its not just your dermatologist saying it...and its also my dermatologist...they must be right. although you really do need sunscreen. those prescription products make you more sensitive to the sun.

and btw...to solve your makeup problem. use primer. it will act as a canvas for your makeup and will create a barrier between your skin and makeup so it wont clog your pores. I recommend the Smashbox Photofinish primer.|||This is the most ridiculous advice i have ever heard from somebody who considers them self a doctor.

OK

You NEED MOISTURIZER!! i%26#039;ll tell you why. without moisturizer, your skin is dry. when your skin is dry, your oil glands have to work to moisturize your skin. it will make your skin oily and nasty, making you break out more. YOU HAVE TO USE MOISTURIZER!

here are some GREAT non-greasy ones.

for a budget: clean and clear oil-free morning glow moisturizer.

for department stores: clinique dramatically different moisture|||if you have oily skin you don%26#039;t need a moisturizer because your skin is naturally moistened. Try a creamy foundation(water base) with spf15....it works for me!

Dermatologist or endocrinologist? (PCOS)?

I%26#039;m a 17 yr old girl recently diagnosed with PCOS...my regular doctor just tested my blood levels and saw that my testosterone was high. Also, if you don%26#039;t mind me asking, are you overweight?

I have PCOS and a lot of my symptoms (excess hair and acne) were a lot worse than %26quot;normal%26quot; because I was overweight.

Dermatologist Needed!?

Im hoping that I can get a real dermatologist%26#039;s adivce on what to do with my skin.

I dont have acne. The only place I usually get pimples is in my T-zone. My nose and chin tend to peel alot. When I get pimples they are usually deep under the skin and hurt alot. Not the kind you can just get rid of in a few days. I tend to pick at my face alot, but I%26#039;m trying to stop.

What products, or routines can I use that will help me achieve perfect skin?!

Thank you.

Experienced answers only please.|||Only your skin can give you the best answer -

Typically use really pure and natural products for your face.

Stick to the regime twice a day and implement a scrub twice a week and a mask once a week -

Some great acne regimes are acne free or Clear Advantage by Arbonne -

since you don%26#039;t have a solid acne problem you could choose aveeno or nutregena products too but find a wash - toner and moisturizer for your dry spots and perhaps a stridex pad for the oily t zone.

At night you can take a hot compress to draw out dirt and deep seated pimples (heat compress in micro for double warmth) and do a deep cleaning mask once a week (try one that warms up)

and twice a week exfoliate - to break up dirt or deep pimples (surfacing them).

Take vitamins a e and c and zinc

water (8 + glasses)

diet (watch junk)

and be sure to know your skin could get worse before it adjusts.. after 30 days no results try a new product regime.

Be consistent and to much = break outs.|||First let me say that I am NOT a dermatologist. I do work with skin though. I am a customer service rep with a product called Proactiv Solution. I have worked with many different skin types in the past 2 and 1/2 years. Now Proactiv Solution is not something for everyone and I am not going to tell you to try it unless you think you would like to. I am going to tell you what is going on with your skin and the different routes you do have. First, your acne type is pretty sever in the fact that the blemishes are deep. This form of acne is called cystic acne. They tend to be hard knot like blemishes that very rarely surface. Most often it is caused by excessive dryness, hence your peeling skin. When I get a customer who describes this type of acne issue I recomend 2 things. Hydration via lots of water and an oil free, non comegenic (meaning it wont clog your pores) moisturizer. And also a good regemin to cleanse, tone and refine your skin. Now there are lots of different products that do this, with Proactiv being one of them. And there are 2 main acne products or chemicals that will help you alivate your issue. I would first try something that contains a chemical called salycilic acid. This is a gentle acne fighting agent that would not intensify your skin issue. You really need to stick with it for at least 4 months on proper and continual usage to really see results. The reason why I say this is because acne is not an instantanious %26quot;curable%26quot; skin condition, as there is no cure for acne issues. There is good news though, as acne is MAINTAINABLE. If you find that the salycilic acid is not strong enough then you would need a product with benzoyl peroxide. You need to be careful with benzoyl peroxide though because it could take your already dry skin and make it worse. Either way you go you need to get the moisturizer going to get your skin hydrated because when you have dry skin, it is your skin cells causing a blockage in your pores. When you get a blockage, your oil glands become more active and try to push it out and it can%26#039;t because skin is too heavy to move like that. Thus causing your acne issue. With me working for Proactiv Solution I hear lots of great sucess stories with the product. If you are interested in trying it, you could call customer service and ask to start off with the Gentle Formula Kit. This kit will cost you 45.90 every 2 months so you can get your skin under control. If you chose to look into other products I can refer you to some. Starting with a product called Arbon. You can google it to get more info. There is also a product calle Ance Free. This product is similar to Proactiv as it has the 3 steps and it is a benzoyl peroxide based product, and is cheaper then Proactiv Solution, BUT we find that the results are kinda hairy... meaining it either works extremely well or it makes matters much much worse as the acne fighting ingredient is milled differently. I will let you know that if you can not find a moisturizer that you are comfortable with Proactiv does have one called the Oil Free moisturizer with SPF 15. If you join the club with the actual kits it can be added to your kit for just 10 bucks, or purchased seperately at 19.95. If you don%26#039;t join the club you can still get it at retail price for 25.00. Also, you may want to consider talking to a dermatologist and seeing about acutane if nothing else works. Acutane is kinda a scarey product but if nothing works, that might be your best choice of action. I hope this helps, and if you have any other questions feel free to email me. :-) Have a great day!|||you need to kill the bacteria.

you need to clear the pores.

use a product with salicylic acid, like clear pore astringent with a clean cotton pad twice daily.

use benzoyl peroxide wipes to kill the bacteria. use wipes because the cream can get in your eyes!

No picking!! Picking is like akin to a farmer planting his fields.

If this doesn%26#039;t work (wait a month and see) go to a dermatologist.

I suffer as well.|||I like you didn%26#039;t have horrible acne. I would get a few here and there. And the acne that is under your skin, those are cysts. They hurt very badly and never really go away, they just go down. The only way to get rid of them is by getting injections into them at the dermatologist.

As for the dry skin, drink more water. And make sure you use lotion on your face every night.

As far as face washes go, use Neutrogena face soap bar. It%26#039;s orange and very cheap. It will help clean your face without over drying it.

DO NOT use Proactiv. It only made my face worse and it was semi expensive.

If you do end up going to a dermatologist, talk to them about Accutane. I have been using it for awhile now and I have yet to see a pimple in the last 5 months.

Dermatologist perscrbed medication questions?

hey guys, i have a dermatologist appointment tomorrow about my acne, i have really bad acne on my jaw line and a little on my cheeks, on both sides i have really red what looks like joined pimples, thyre really nasty and bad looking, otherwise aside from those 2 i have a bunch of small red pimples all along my chin and jaw line, i cover it up with make up but im worried all that does is spread it, is there anything the dermatologist can do that can result in immediate results? like a shot or something? and how long does it take for medication to start showing results? thank you so much, my acne is killing me its all i worry about and i have so many good things in life happening, and its a real downer for me.|||yeah, the makeup is a big NO NO.

Dermatologist.....?? dont know what to do...?

I need to go to a dermatologist. umm...first i dont know any in my area (ill look in the fonebook of course) but anyways. how much does it cost generally?

but i need to go to see if i have cancer.

see. long story short. my older sister had a mole above her eyebrow. and it was cancerous. and they removed it. but no promises of the cancer not coming back. and it did, but in her brain. and tumors were forming. and she passed away.

now i have a mole above my eyebrow. and i need to get this checked asap! how much would it cost? oh. and i dont have health insurence.|||I dont know about your area, but it may cost somewhere between $40-$60. When I changed jobs, I changed insurance, and lo and behold my current dermatologist didnt take that insurance, so I paid full price and didnt go back to him. I paid $55 I think.

You cant put a price on your life. Especially since you have a family history of cancer, go to a dermatologist ASAP.|||Call a dermatologist and ask how much it costs for an office visit. We can only give you guesses on the cost, and if a biopsy is needed, there is another charge for lab work. I am very sorry about your sis.

Dermatologist and acne pills?

I have have a few questions about the visit,

will i be able to be prescribed a pill (not a cream) on my first visit?

This may sound weird, but i was wondering if acne pills had any affects on the size of your boobs like birth control does?

how long does it usually take for a pill to start working?

thanks(:|||There is this new popular cream that people have been talking about.

It was even televised on TV.

It prevents future and existing acne, diminishes scars, and lightens skin and blemishes. Fast results too! (It%26#039;s been claimed that major results can be seen within a week and no later than two weeks)

Before and After photos are available at the given ebay site.

=)|||I had an acne problem a couple years ago, just mild to moderate, like you. My first visit i was prescribed a pill and a cream (minocycline and tazorac, respectively). They weren%26#039;t very effective, so I went back for another visit a month later and was upgraded to tetracycline and a stronger version of tazorac. These were also ineffective. My dermatologist was very busy. and i couldn%26#039;t get another follow up appointment, so i went to my normal doctor, who prescribed me Acutane. I saw results from it in about two and a half to three weeks. It is a serious medication, so it will be your doctor%26#039;s last resort more than likely. It requires female patients to be on birth control and to have monthly pregnancy tests, as it can cause severe birth defects if you become pregnant for the six months you take it or for up to six months after. Regardless of sex, patients of the drug must be administered monthly blood tests, as the drug can negatively affect liver and kidney function. Taking everything into account. though, it was absolutely worth it to have the clear skin I have now.

Dermatologist or birth control?

So, I%26#039;ve tried everything. My esthetician says that most of my acne is hormonal, and it would help for me to get on birth control. I%26#039;ve looked around and Yasmin seems to be a good one. I%26#039;m 19, and I do have really bad cramps and my period is very irregular. Or, would it be better for me to just go to a dermatologist and get a pill for the acne? Oh, and I%26#039;m not sexually active. The problem isn%26#039;t with hygiene either, I keep my body clean.|||I%26#039;d get the birth control. You%26#039;ll have the added benefit of better and predictable periods, and it probably will help with the acne. If it doesn%26#039;t work, then go see a dermatologist. It%26#039;s kinda a win-win. Even if it doesn%26#039;t work for your acne, your periods will be easier, and then you can go to plan b. Oh, and a huge fraction of people on birth control aren%26#039;t actually doing it for the birth control, but for reasons like yours. The majority of teens on birth control aren%26#039;t sexually active, dunno about adults though. Anyway, it%26#039;s not unusual at all to go on it w/out being sexually active, and you don%26#039;t really have anything to lose from taking it. If it is hormonal like your esthetician says, there%26#039;s a good likelihood that it will help you.|||I have acne too, so I found a nurse practitioner in my area that specializes in skin conditions. She%26#039;s not a dermatologist (so not as expensive), but my acne has improved. She put me on Yaz birth control along with a few medications specifically for acne-differin gel and Septa as a mild antibiotic. She also told me to wash my face with Cetaphil antibacterial cleanser and not use any products with sacrylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Seems to have worked fairly well :-) I think dermatologists are expensive, so your best bet is to see a regular doctor that knows how to treat acne or specializes in skin conditions. You can try going on Yaz first, see if that works and if it doesn%26#039;t, then go see a dermatologist. Good luck!|||So I%26#039;m almost 17 and was pretty much in the same boat. Getting on birth control does help, but it doesn%26#039;t cure acne completely. Plus, you get all the added benefits of the pill- shorter periods, cramps almost rid of completely. So I do suggest that. But if you want it gone completely (as in, it%26#039;s pretty bad) I would see a dermatologist in addition to getting on the pill. Warning though: I was prescribed pills for acne and it was an awful experience. You usually have to take the medications on an empty stomach, and they%26#039;re very strong. I was sick to my stomach literally every day. I could help you out a little more if you said where you had the acne? Some topical creams are really good but if you have it on your chest or back they bleach clothes bad. If it%26#039;s just on your face I would talk to a dermatologist about those first. Good luck. (:|||I think your difficulty is primarily hormonal and birth control may help. However, just be aware that reduced acne is only sometimes a side effect of birth control. There are some acne medications out there but I have tried many of them and often they do not work as well. It is difficult to live with acne and I have found the best thing to do is try various products until you find something that works. Good Luck!!|||I would talk to a doctor, not your esthetician, who probably had a 6 month course in how to apply cosmetics, and a doctor has like at least 6 years of schooling. No brainer.|||Try the birth control. My acne cleared up when my hormones evened out in my 20%26#039;s. The birth control should regulate yours.|||Birth control.

i also get it around my eyebrows %26amp; between them, the ones around my mouth %26amp; chin r any where from little bumps (the same color as my skin) to huge, painfu inflamed ones...i need somthing to cure them..(name a product that will work or should i go to a dermatologist)|||Well i go to the dermatologist and she gave me differin....And you can only get it with a prescription........I am telling you its the best thing i have ever used......my acne was gone in a week.......and im not exaggerating or anything............so go see a dermatologist........|||No dermatologist wont do anything for you i can tell you that they give you stuff that only works for a bit to have you pay to come back and see them which takes forever! Try not to touch your face, use hairspray on in the back or top, but not it front of your head that also makes pimples. Olay soap is really good it doesn%26#039;t clog pores, then look for a cleaner to use after the soap to get the extra that the soap didn%26#039;t get off such as dirt.|||I highly recommend a dermatologist visit. Dermatologist or store brand?

SO as I get older, my skin gets worse. I am a young teen, and my forehead is where i get most of my acne.

I have been working on keeping my bangs out of my face.

I%26#039;ve tried acne free, apricot scrub, biore self heating masks, clean and clear.

and yeah they work for some time, like a few weeks.

but then these huge painful cystic acne lumps come back.

can i see my family doctor as a dermatologist? will that work?

i think that is all i can do right now.

will i be guaranteed it to work??

the kind of scars i get are weird too.

they are not like dents.

they still have a slight bump under the skin and are red dots.

makeup does not cover them either.

should i just keep trying this stuff for a couple more weeks, and then go to the dermo??

please give me suggestions.

not of store bought products tho.|||If your case is as serious as you are saying, go to a dermatologist. I would recommend a real specialized dermatologist. I used to have the same problem and my mom took me to one.

The doctor helped me a lot. He also gave me some lotions and a bunch of tips to prevent future problems. He might also want you to come back every amount of time to check on you which i find good because that way you know that your acne is being treated correctly. In fact he might actually tell you tips on how to avoid getting scars, which lotions and scrubs do work and which doesn%26#039;t etc...

hope it helps and good luck|||Definitely go to your family doctor/dermatologist. They can give you pills, or a topical ointment that will clear up your acne. Dont make yourself suffer any longer!! Go see your doctor and they can set you up with an appointment. Hope I helped!!

Dermatologist prescribed me Benzaclin??

I%26#039;m 16 and I went to a dermatologist today and he gave me some prescriptions. One of which includes benzaclin. He said to use it twice daily every day and that it bleaches towels. Will it bleach my pillow or hair?! Also I was given a benzoyl peroxide cleanser to use 1 to 2 times a day. I%26#039;ve heard that benzaclin will dry your skin if you put too much so how mcuh do you suggest I use? How long should it take me to see results? I have moderate acne and mainly just have old acne scars. I have a moisturizer from olay to use after applying the gel but how long should I wait to apply it? The mouisturizer says %26quot;all day moisture lotion SPF 15 protection%26quot; is that good? It%26#039;s for sensitive skin. Should I only aplly benzaclin on the areas that I have acne or should I just apply it to my entire face? Thank you for your help!!!|||I am a Registered Nurse and I specialize in skin care and teen acne.

After 12 years in this profession I find that most of my patients who deal with acne or brekout problems DO NOT SEE RESULTS from commercial products sold at drung stores or the mall. They usually contain too much benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid or sulfur which tends to OVER DRY the skin and cause itching or irritations.

Also, home remedies such as lemon juice or alcohol or toothpaste SHOULD NEVER BE USED because they cause small tears in the skin and leave the skin more susceptible to bacteria that causes pimples or acne.

Your question is very broad and you need to get professional advice. I will explain why it%26#039;s a broad question!

Your age plays a role! Do you always have breakouts?

However, acne can result from several factors such an increase in hormone levels. In males testosterone or androgens. In females, androgens respectively. The increase in androgen levels can stimulate the oil glands to become enlarged and thus more oil production is produced. An increased oil production can clog the pores with oil or sebum ( white thick substance) which cause the cell walls of the pores in the skin to breakdown. This process allows bacteria to form and thus breakouts develop.

Genetics may also be a cause. It is a myth that greasy food or chocolate causes breakouts.

However, using make-up sponges that are not changed or washed often can contaminate the pores with bacteria which may develop into acneic breakouts.

Teenagers going through hormonal and growth changes are prone to acne.

If you have severe breakouts than you might need medication. There are many factors.

The most important thing is that you need products that are AGE APPROPRIATE! Every age group has different products appropriate for them. If you are young than you need milder products as to not dry out your beautiful young skin.

The problem with commercial skin products is that they are manufactured for MASSES OF PEOPLE and are not specifically made for different peoples%26#039; needs.

Your skin type is different than mine and your age differs from mine so how is it logical that we both use the same skin product for breakouts. We need different strengths of cleansers and toners. Do you kind of understand what I am getting at?

Here is my STRONG SUGGESTION for you. I refer all my students and patients to this website:

www.aboutyourskincare.com

You need to consult with professionals and on this website YOU CAN ASK QUESTIONS FOR FREE AND A SKIN EXPERT/PHYSICIAN WILL ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS. It would be a shame if you dont take advantage of this free service.

Lastly, they have incredible products for breakouts and they make them specifically for every kind of skin type. That means that if your breakouts are more severe than mine, than while we both will buy the same product yours will have stronger ingredients than mine will.

They have a mild glycolic acid cleanser that%26#039;s great for your type of skin and also a DRYING LOTION ( I have 3 bottles) that you put directly on your breakouts and the next day it%26#039;s gone. It%26#039;s truely magic in a bottle.

A basic guideline for properly taking care of your skin is this ( now if you%26#039;re a young girl you will need fewer products than this):

Night time:

1. Exfoliate the skin

2. Mild Glycolic Acid Cleanser

3. Mild Glycolic Acid Toner ( cleans off the excess debris and balances the PH level of the skin).

4. Drying Lotion used only on breakouts

5. Moisturizer

Morning:

1. Mild Glycolic Acid Cleanser

2. Moisturizing cream

The above is a standard you may need to only use one or two products. Visit: www.aboutyourskincare.com

As I suggested and click on the ASK FOR FREE section send them an email and you will get free expert skin care advice.

Good Luck to you,

Michelle|||i used to use that a while ago...yea it works and it depends on ur skin abt the dryness...and no i probably wont bleach ur hair...and definitely apply to ur whole face...

Dermatologist PLZ HELP?

I have been trying to make a dermatologist appointment for my acne for 2 years. Now my mom and dad finally did make me one about a month ago. But now they are having problems with money, and my appointment is coming up on the 18th of this month.

Its a $100 just for the consultation. But my grandma said she would pay for it. But here is the thing, I dont want here to have to pay for it if the dermatologist isnt going to give me anything. If she is just going to look at it and tell me a little about it, and then I will have to make another appointment later, there isnt any use because I wont be able to go back for a while because thats another $100 for another appointment.

So if anyone has ever been to a dermatologist, please let me know if they will give me something the first time I go. Thanks to anyone who helps.|||I%26#039;ve been to the dermatologist WAY more times than I could ever imagine. lol (i%26#039;ve seen at least 4 derms)

And honestly, they all sucked. All they did was tell me, %26quot;yes...so you have acne. severe acne. We can offer you treatments, but we%26#039;re not really sure how well it will work with you. but.. here you go!%26quot;

Some gave me chemical burns. Some made my skin itchy and dry. Some gave me headaches. Some made me vomit. etc... but not ONE has helped cure my acne.

I did find a few things that did help with my acne on my own.

;)

So,... I say, if it%26#039;s a reputable place, and your acne is not SERIOUS (like mine was), then I%26#039;m sure they have something to offer you.

I%26#039;m assuming you have moderate acne because people with mild acne don%26#039;t really care about trying to get a derm to check out their acne and offer treatments. They usually just use over the counter products like clean and clear, and proactive. which all SUCKED for me. If you have moderate acne, ask them about RETIN A MICRO, and TETRACYCLINE.

=)

good luck!

If you want, I could help you...........xD And no, I%26#039;m not some old fart. lmao. I%26#039;m 15 going on 16.|||They will give you a prescription medicine for your acne that you%26#039;ll have to pay for it too. And depending on what kind the dermatologist perscribes it can be expensive.

The problem also is that sometimes the perscription won%26#039;t work for you. I used to go to the dermatologist for acne when I was younger too. She perscribed me Differin%26#039;, which is an acne cream. The problem is that it would dry up my skin and it didn%26#039;t help get rid of my pimples. So I wasted all that money for nothing.

You should try Proactiv. That%26#039;s what I did. You don%26#039;t need a perscription for it. You just order it online and they ship it to you. I%26#039;ve been using it for over two years now and my skin has gotten soooooo much better. You should try it, and if it doesn%26#039;t work after a month or so you can go to the dermatologist.

Here%26#039;s the site:

http://www.proactiv.com

Hope I could help!|||since ur under 18, its not worth it

acne is a typical teenage thing, its better to get it out of your system

why don%26#039;t you put $10 dollars in a jar every month and just save enough to pay for it YOURSELF if it really bothers YOU|||chances are the doctor will prescribe you with some sort of pill and possibly a topical cream. Most likely you will get differein gel or retin A and then something like Minocylin. The doctor technically will give those to you %26quot;free%26quot; at your first consult and tell you to come back in a set period of time. like 3 - 6 months for another $100 appointment. it is usually based on the amount of medicine they prescribe.

you will have to pay somebody for the perscriptions. And depending on where you go, what your health insurance costs, it could be $50 could be $200. My insurance has a deductible and it was $250. So I had to pay full amount until I hit $250. But I am single and live on my own.

So really what you would end up paying is the $100 for the doctor visit and whatever the medication would cost.

I was on a variety of pills and topical creams for the better part of my 20s and have since done accutane.|||the first time i went to a dermatologist, i didn%26#039;t think it would really work that well.

but she gave me some products, and i immediately saw my acne start disappearing.

after the next couple appointments, she pretty much just checked up on my skin and told me to use the same stuff as before.

the problem about only having one appointment is that they give you coupons for medicine, and you could run out of medicine and have to pay full-price for it.

(which is a lot of money. one of my medicines is worth literally $500, but we only have to pay $10 because of the coupons.)

and sometimes, they%26#039;ll want you to change something about the way you%26#039;re doing your medicine.

going to a dermatologist is definitely the right way to go.

i LOVE mine, i don%26#039;t know what i would do without her!

Dermatologist question. Can you help?

Dermatologists perform a common (in-office) procedure in which they freeze-off rough scaly patches from your skin. These patches usually occur in fair skinned people who have been exposed to the sun too much. What is this procedure called???

Also, I had this done and it left an area on my face (about the size of a dime) without pigment. I was never informed that this %26quot;might%26quot; happen. The doctor said there is nothing that can be done to correct this. SHOULD I JUST ACCEPT THIS ANSWER AND GO ON MY WAY? I feel betrayed and violated.|||It is a complication of the procedure, but your description of patches is to vague. Is it a keloid? Cause cryotherapy is done to remove them. An if thats all you got from it, you should be happy. I have seen cases where people got a massive reoccurance.

Anyway thats why they invented makeup.

Anyway, patches can be keloid, fungal infection, psoriasis, so many things.

Dermatologist help im a male but would prefer a women doctor to a man?

I have an appointment with a dermatologist next month regarding moles, does anyone know what this will intail, also how long it will take etc. Will i have to strip off and if so do they check everywhere ie bum etc. If i need to strip off i feel i would prefer a women doctor to a male one, do you think it would be ok asking for this or does it sound a bit wierd, help me please ha. ps im from the uk|||I don%26#039;t know about you but I would much prefer a female aswell, and i don%26#039;t think it sounds weird, tell them your uncomfertable with men, make a lie, eg. tell them your a Homosexual, and it would be embarrassing for a man to inspect you

Heres a picture of it:|||go to a dermatologist. i dont know what would help. looks like rosecea whatever that skin thing is. but if its not just try over the counter pimple products. if it doesnt go away in two weeks go to the derm.|||You might have rosacea or something like that because your skin is very red. Try a calming cleanser and moisturizer. It would be best though, to go to an actual dermatologist.

Dermatologist = Useless?

I went to the dermatologist today because I am 16 and suffer from severe hair loss. The dermatologist first told me my blood test came out good and then that I am suffering from pre-mature male pattern baldness. She then called her boss, the main dermatologist in the clinic and she was puzzled, saying that it was diffuse alopecia because my hair line is thick.

They then came to the conclusion that I should take regaine which is rogaine for 4 months and in that time if nothing happens, they will start giving me steroid injections.

Do they even know what they are talking about? I mean they are doctors but they just seemed to have no idea with what is going on with my hair, seems guess work to them.|||I have never heard of steroid injections helping hair loss but I am not a doctor. Get a second opinion if you aren%26#039;t comfortable with what they are telling you.

BTW, if your mom or pops have thin hair, chances are there isn%26#039;t much you can do about it. It%26#039;s heredity, unfortunately. I have thin hair (yes, girls get it too) and Rogaine has worked for me in the past, however you have to be committed to use it twice a day for the rest of your life. Count on it costing about $1 a day. I hope one of the other treatments work for you. I have yet to hear of a sure thing when it comes to baldness. Good luck!|||My doctor prescribed Rogaine to me too...its working|||I get frustrated with doctors too, claiming to know so much and then spacing it on the most simple things. Just let it be an example to you, and one day to be a complete professional in your line of work.|||In my experience most doctors are like that. They make a guess and cross their fingers. I would just stay on top of it and try to find different reasons that go along with your problem.. Do YOUR research then present them with what you have found and they will help you decide the best action. Just remember its YOUR body and they dont care about it as much as you do...

Not ment to be offensive, its just my experence with many different doctors for many different problems.|||They probably know more than you think they know. I recently went to a dermatologist about a problem that I thought could never be solved. I had some severe eczema. It was really uncomfortable. I left the office thinking, %26quot;How in the world is the medication that he prescribed going to help me?%26quot; It took some time, but eventually the medication did help. I know it is hard, but sometimes you just have to trust the expertise of your doctor. You must realize that since they have been practicing, they have probably seen your condition (premature hair loss) in other patients many times. They go through a lot of schooling to get where they are. But also, there is the occasional bad doctor out there. Their suggestion in your case here sounds reasonable to me. But don%26#039;t take my advice because I am not a dermatologist. I have just gone to one many times and my mother worked for a good one for many years.|||i dont trust them. try natural remedies first--just google home remedies hair loss. skip the crazy stuff until you find something sane. see if it works. then if it doesnt work you could try the derm again--a different derm.|||Hair loss is not a disease or something that you can cure. It is genetic from your mothers genes. Also Dermatologists work with skill Derm-Skin Tologist-Expert|||you call yourself a lifesaver!?

I call you %26quot;pimple popper MD!!%26quot;|||Yes they do but there are so many things it could be they are likely giving you the wrong help. I thought the same thing when I first started going. It took a few tries of different things to finally get something that worked for me. Although my problems isn%26#039;t hair. But I%26quot;m sure they can find somethign that will work. Just trust them and stick to it. I still have some problems after two years of going. But I know why I have my problem. It%26#039;s stress that causes it. What they can do can only do so much with most things they help with. So just do what they give you. Trust them, they know what they are doing and they will figure it out, even if it takes a little while. By the way if you dont like them, go to a different dermatologist. The first guy I went to was an ***. He got mad because I didn%26#039;t want to do the ten things he told me and I just did a few. So I switched to a different lady. I do what she told me to do which was much less than he did. I mean who wants to spend that much time in a day and put that much crap on your face. I%26#039;m sure he was right... ANyway. lol. The end of that was just rambling. Good luck with your baldness! If you go to a naturalpathic doctor they will tell you what vitamins you can take to promote hair grow. Or maybe you should just try to take a multivitamin along with what the dermatologist says. You want to try to be healthy and I%26#039;m sure that will help. Get good sleep. Eat right, exercise. Lead as healthy of a lifestyle as you can.

Kayla|||They are doctors......not God. They do the best they can to try to figure out what is wrong with you, and sometimes they don%26#039;t always know.|||They sound clueless, my dear. I doubt a dermatologist is what you need.|||They mostly know what they are talking about. Your odds are better that they will be able to fix your problem than if you went to a foot doctor or an auto mechanic. There is more than one reason a young person can lose their hair, doctors make their best guess based on the facts and symptoms presented to them.

Dermatologist examination for moles will i have to get naked?

i need an examination with the dermatologist who will be looking at moles as i have been reffered and have loads of them. Could anybody please tell me what this will involve ie will i have to get naked, do they take photos. Problem is i cant help but think i will get an erection and dont want some doctor seeing especially as on is on the inside of my leg right at the top. im worrying sick so if anyone has had moles checked out before please tell me what happens. i live in the uk but i guess that its the same procedure throughout the world. thanks for all your help.

WORRIED MAN|||You may or may not have to get undressed. Or you may be able to leave your under wear on if you wish.

BUT

You should realize that the doctor is not going to care if your penis becomes erect. They are doctors, they know how and why a penis becomes erect (which can be any number of things that have nothing to do with sex). They have seen it millions of times before, I PROMISE.|||For last 5 years a women dermatologist does my body exam every 6 months. I remove everything except underwear and wear johnny gown. Doctor starts with my face, then head, chest (lowering gown) and arms, then front of legs. Then I lay down and she checks back, and back of legs and feet bottom. She checks around waist band of underwear. She asks if there are any other moles she needs to look at. Show her the one you are concerned with. With the gown, cold exam room, dr, nurse, etc. I never have had an issue with an erection.

Male dermatologist years ago never checked in my hair on head and I have been dealing with melanoma since. Rather have a little embarrassment than a poor exam.

Psychologists, dermatologists... etc... they love paychecks, the more you return, the more money they make. Be careful. Your problem is stress related, it%26#039;s something they won%26#039;t tell you here in America. I am so burdened that so much of this is going on in America....I constantly am asked by patients what alternatives do we have? Why do dermatologists recommend cetaphil for acne?

why do dermatologists recommend cetaphil for acne when it doesnt have anything to help acne in it?....does it really help acne skin?|||Hey I%26#039;m 15 and my dermatologist recommended this because it is a face cleanser that, unlike acne cleansers, keeps your face not too oily and not too dry, and it doesn%26#039;t cause irritation. She recommended it to me also because it is a face wash before I put the acne cream on- so you shouldn%26#039;t ONLY be using cetaphil. Also, from my experience, I just recently was put on it, and it%26#039;s doing just what it is supposed to- although I know for the changes to be seen it%26#039;ll take months, it has definitely done it%26#039;s job. So yes, I think it helps, but this alone isn%26#039;t going to clear your acne- unless maybe yours is very mild it might, I%26#039;m not an expert though.|||I wish you well in whatever choice that you make. My son had acne and I do know the distress that it can bring. Not to be taken lightly.

I also agree that you should see a dermatologist. I suggest that as welll as clearpores, you do have a look at the exposed acne product.

Also ensure that you check your diet to ensure that you are eating plenty of vegetables and fruit and also a simple tip to implement is to drink plenty of water each day.

Good luck with your decision|||It%26#039;s a gentle cleanser, and many people with acne have very sensitive skin. Cleansers with acne fighting ingredients can be too harsh. Acne & Dermatologist... ??

i%26#039;ve had acne since i was 15 (now im 17) and 2 months ago i decided to go to a dermatologist, by the way i dont have health insurance, so i paid $60 in cash... well he said that everything about chocolate and greasy food are all myths and it doesnt cause acne... well he prescribed me tetracycline 500mg for 4 months 1 capsule a day. and a cream called adult acnomel... its been 2 months since i started taking them and i havent had any results yet.... and my next appointment is in october....

Last week me and my gf went to a spa and i asked how much it was to make an appointment if i dont have insurance, and the lady said it was a free consultation.. so i schedule an appointment for september since it was free..... Now my question........ What should i tell the dr over there?? that im currently taking that medicine or what?? since is a free consultation could he prescribe me something?
