Dermatologist; Good Choice?

I am thinking of being a Dermatologist. I want to specialize in the cosmetic aspects of the practice. How many years does it generally take to become one and what%26#039;s the average pay? Also, are the hours flexible and the lifestyle comfortable?

Thanks.|||Dermatology is an area of specialization for M.D.s or D.O.s

The pay rate is one of the higher pays and best practice hours you can have as a physician. BUT, you better be at the very top of your class. There are not very many derm programs and they only take a few residents each year. So you have to be in the top few people of your medical school graduating class to even be considered.

This is what you%26#039;re in for:

4yrs under grad college

possible 2 yrs grad

4 yrs med school

3 years specialty residency

possible 1-2 yrs fellowship for derm cosmteic specialty

Good Luck!|||i belive you need to take general med school for 4 years before you can even start dermatology.
