My brother is 24 and never had acne problems since recently. They seem to be quite serious. He is scheduled to see a dermatologist this week, my question is
What options do they offer for acne patients? and do they end up with a clear looking complexion afterwards?|||Seeing a dermatologist helps some people, others see a doctor for years and go through tons of harsh treatments and see no results. I started having problem skin at 25. I always had clear skin as a teenager and in my early 20%26#039;s. I have been prescribed anti-biotics (topical and oral), retin-a, chemical peels, laser treatments. None of the %26#039;treatments%26#039; helped, most only worsened the condition. The best thing I ever used was vegetable glycerine and tea tree oil. With a dry, unwashed face, put a quarter sized amount in your palm, and add 3-4 drops of tea tree oil. Massage the mixture all over your face and leave it on for about 20 minutes before bedtime. Rinse off with warm (not hot!) water and then wash with a small amount of anti-bacterial liquid soap. Pat dry, apply a toner (witch hazel is pretty mild) and then a good moisturizer. I use almond oil. Most people with acne avoid oils and stip moisture from their skin, this only worsens the condition and causes your body to produce MORE oil. Within days you will notice a BIG difference in the clarity and feel of your skin. Good luck!|||There are hundreds of options from the simple over the counter, sallylic acid washes to very strong oral medications. How people respond to them varies widely, but if he%26#039;s never had problems before simple treatments should be effective.
