My dermatologist prescribed me Dioxycycline..?

I%26#039;ve been taking dioxycycline twice a day for acne. my dermatologist prescribed it to me. My boyfriend told me that his brother (who is in the army) takes it when he goes to foreign countries to prevent Malaria. Why the hell am I taking Dioxycycline for ACNE then? Has anyone else done this???|||I used to work for a dermatologist, trust me that%26#039;s a very good prescription he gave u for acne. U will see improvements in 2-3 weeks. But like all medicines it is used for other things dont be afraid the doctor used to prescribe all the times and people loved the effects.Good lUck|||It%26#039;s an antibiotic so it can be used to treat various problems. Goodluck!|||Doxycycline is a antibiotic for a wide variety of bacteria. Yes they use it for malaria and such but they also use it for STDs, so it covers alot of different bacteria. Trust your doc, he knows what he is doing. I work in a health care clinic and I see that alot more than penicillin.|||As a teenager my dermatologist put me on Tetracycline to clear up my acne. (That was years ago, of course) It worked GREAT! So trust your doctor! He didn%26#039;t get his title by being a dummy!
