Is my dermatologist crazy?

so i have been on tetracycline and menocycline and have been allergic to it..


now my derm.. is putting me on doxycycline isn%26#039;t it basicly the same thing as the other 2 anti biotics i have been on..


should i take doxycycline i think my doctor is crazy his already put me on 2 antibiotics i ended up being allergic to..





i think that doxycycline is almos the same as tetracycline and menocycline or am i wrong?? i need help should i listen 2 him ??|||Those are all the same class of drug. Has he lost his mind. What is he trying to treat? Perioral dermatitis or something? Those are all drugs used to treat it. If that%26#039;s the case then they need to try something else. Desonide is a good topical drug to help it. Not sure what else will work for it, but I would avoid that class of drugs and make sure he knows that you can%26#039;t take it. I%26#039;m surprised your pharmacist didn%26#039;t flag it. Good luck!|||Doxycycline is in the same drug family, however, you may not be allergic to it. The question that should be asked is, %26quot;what problem are you having that requires antibiotics?%26quot;, and, %26quot;are there other medications that can be used to treat the problem?%26quot; If you feel that your dermatologist is crazy, then you might just want to consider going to a different one for a second opinion.
