Is Dermatologist Better, or Oncologist?

I am still shaky in what kind of medical field I should go into. So I have TWO choices: Dematologist or Oncologist?

From the reference that I%26#039;ve heard is, being a Dermatologist is very difficult. And Oncologist, is the most needed in medical field...

So based on their salary, employment range (easy to get into), and requirements...

What is BETTER?

P.S. ThankYouALL, who%26#039;ve answered my prev. questions. helped me lot %26gt;_%26lt; %26quot;Sorry for errors!%26quot;|||You have to be a very competitive candidate to get a dermatology residency at all. It is the hardest field to get into, but WORTH IT. Its a lot of work, but the work hours are a lot better than a lot of the other doctors. Also, you%26#039;d have to decide whether you%26#039;d be more of a cosmetic dermatologist (Botox, fattening lips, etc) or a medical one (removing melanoma, helping with acne, etc) As for their salary, well... Lets just say they get paid very very well.

An oncologist has a lot of emotional stress to deal with. There will be a lot of death and the surgeries will always be pretty tense. But the pay is still pretty good and the rewards of curing cancer might be worth it to you.

I think you can%26#039;t really go wrong, but if you think you can work really hard for a while, then go for dermatology.|||I would go with Oncologist|||u should go for oncology as it has a better scope ...|||What do you want, how do you feel about dealing with people that have a better then average probability of dying.

Of course, will people who have rashes and acne seem trivial to you after a while.

You have to make these decisions from inside of you. No one can do it for oyu and it should NOT be based on salary.|||I wouldn%26#039;t say one is better than the other. The answer rests with why to do you want to become either. I wouldn%26#039;t agree that Oncologist is needed more than a Dermatologist. Of course, I have never really heard of anyone dying of a hair, nail or skin disorder but they do have a toll on comfort, livelihood and one%26#039;s self-esteem.

My question to you is why do you want to become a Dermatologist or Oncologist? None is better than the other. Just a matter of what you prefer. I work in the medical field and if it%26#039;s money that you are considering you can make alot of money from both.

Oncology is needed but can be very difficult and draining. Most of the time you are dealing with people who are dying. For me personally, I would choose Dermatology.
